Tendenziell - translation of this into English

I know what "tendenziell" means in this context (sports):

Geben Sie *tendenziell* mehr Druck auf die Außenseite der Sohle.

But could someone please weigh in here with their translation too, so that I can show the "recipient" in question someone else's take on this meaning?

Can't you just basically skip that word and say 'place more pressure on the outstep'

Hey BR, That is what I would normally do, but someone is married to this word and demands a translation for word and not so much for overall meaning, as is the better approach.

So, "tendenziell"?

i would translate this with generally or in general.

tend towards placing more pressure...

"Put slightly more pressure on the outstep." Slightly being tendenziell in this context so the recipient is happy and lets you have a great, long weekend.
