I have just bought a whole bunch of DVDS back from America but cannot watch them as they are zone 2 and my DVD player is not multi zone. anyone know a free site that explains how to do this? Its a Philips 520H model by the way. Any suggestions appreciated.

Europe is Code 2 !
USA is code 1 !
A possibility is: Copy them, and you will loose the regional code. They will work on any DVD player...
But found this on the NET !! Try at own risk !!!
1. switch on withoud cd/dvd in the machine
2. press "system menu"
3. go to "preference page"
4. type in "1 3 5 5 6 6" on the remote.
-a new menu appears-
5. change the code to - 0 = codefree with the arrow keys
6. confirm by pressing "system menu"
Or this one:
Systemmenu --> exit --> type in 2960 --> then choose region free.
Just google it and you will find a way...

i found this on
http://www.videohelp.com/ a really good page.
go to dvdhacks on the left.
1- Go into the main menu
2- Highlight the exit button
3- Type 2960
This should give you access to a hidden menu form where you can change the region code.

I did try that code farlands but for some reason cannot find the preference page...I was also told that you can only change the codes once or twice so think I will just get another DVD player and save myself some hassle. Thanks anyway guys:)

two alternatives, one is to watch them on your PC after downloading some DVD code free software (about 30 US from tucows.com)
or
If you have a DVD burner in your PC you can make copies but it requires special software. PM me if you need more info.
