I remember it all, great fun - but unfortunately I also remember SUNDAY which was a total write-off for me. I always puke if I drink spirits after beer, so I did NOT mix my drinks. Only beer.

Despite this, yesterday I think I managed to empty my entire body of everything, 6 times, right down to my toenails.

Before you all say it, I'm getting too old for this!

Talking of old pervs like me, dig the trick with the binoculars (without naming names) ... though I never did get them to focus.

Any incriminating evidence from either our official photographer or the others?

There seems to be a bit of a common theme here. I had a great time too, but felt sooooo bad yesterday too, which was a real shame as the weather was perfect for sightseeing.

From what I can remember the highlights were loads of beer, dancing on tables, the bumper cars, then more dancing in the irish pub. Thank god, common sense prevailed though and we didn't go on any rides!

Thanks JDee for organising it smile.gif

Well, i have to say my head was alright on sunday. The early rise to catch my lift home hurt a bit though !!!
Difficult to pick out highlights. The bumper cars was cool...even tho i did fall on my arse 3 times whilst watching at one point!!! (standing still really shouldn't be that difficult !!!). And i've never had so many bear-hugs from germans before !!!

i was 100% confirmed out of action yesterday, the Eintracht fans on tour are crazy, starting on the Apfelwein at 10am is bad news..!

It was a shame that I could not get into the arcadia beer tent, I queued for over an hour and then spent 2 hours at the Fest just chilling with completely random Stuttgarters and Eintracht fans! it was good to see everyone at the Irish Pub though, don't remember much but can recall dancing madly in front of the live band and asking to play the Keyboard during Hotel California! biggrin.gif

thanks for organising JD and am definately up for paying another visit to Stuttgart sooner rather than later

Sounds like you lot had a good time!
Wish I'd been able to make it as well (although I WAS pleased not to have a hangover yesterday)

Hey Phil, its probably an obvious question, but when you eventually caught up with us at the Irish Pub, you looked completely hammered! How did you get drunk by wandering around the fair in the rain for 2-3 hours, which did not sell any alcohol? unless you have alcohol in your blood...! biggrin.gif
Maconnolly took a lot more pictures than me, I'll post what I have when i figure how to do it, but hope he posts what he took too! I think he was using old technology, y'know, the old SLR and Film stuff.

People what want my pics, pls PM me with your email address and I'll send them on.

Great time! Thanks, and may plan a trip one day in the long weekend to check out the fair. Anyone around Stutters this coming weekend?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks for a great night out at the festival!

I was in stutters again yesterday, so took the opportunity to pay the spring festival another visit (this time for the rides, not the beer!) Did my best not to look dodgy whilst going past security at the enterance, but still managed to get pulled to one side to have my bag searched again!

Anyway, I went on the ride that a few of us nearly went on at the very end of the night. It was actually really good, but I was VERY VERY glad I didn't have any beers inside me, pretty sure I wouldn't have lasted the whole ride without either passing out or pucking up if I'd gone on sat. night!

Quick beer tent tip for anyone who doesn't already know: NEVER EVER leave a beer tent in search of food elsewhere. Even after explaining to security that my house keys were still inside the tent so it was immpossible for me to even go home, the security guards still wouldn't let me back inside again (although maybe that was partly my fault for making several drunken attempts to run past them). Anyway, I was very lucky in the end to manage to sneak round the back and in through the gap by the toilets, so all worked out in the end.

Will be good to see some of you 'outsiders' back in Stuttgart one day.
Look forward to seeing all the photos.
Thanks JDee for organising everything.

Hel.

@JRD, thanks for uploading them, I need to subscribe to this service given my camera gets everywhere! No doubt someone will ask who's who on them. Any way of annotating the piccies? I think I know who's who, if I tell you them then can you annotate? Thanks again biggrin.gif

Are there pics coming from the Stuttgart massive's official photographer ?

Wouldn't have a clue how. On some of the other picture hosting places you can add text and that, but not with that one...

If he is in the pub tonight we can ask him. Although he was using one of those old fashioned camera thingies which don't use memory cards!! So we will have to wait till he has them processed.

cheers for the pix JRD...they capture the spirit of the day rather well don't they. Thank god no photos from in the irish pub have surfaced! All the photographers probably had had one too many by then!
Billy
No actually my batteries ran out in the Irish Pub you lucky person! Coupled with the fact that I lost steam and left earlyish before all the dancing! Macconnolly left before me, so yes, I think no pictures were taken at the pub!
