I love this song as well. It was always on MTV when I first came to Germany, and I found it quite inspirational "How much doooo yooooouuu commit yourself, it's my life"

It has more recent applicability as well.

"I'll never let you down" by Jim Diamond.

acockreland2balls
so this is what's doing it for me at the mo'... we'll start with the live stuff first..

London Elektricity Live at The Scala
Absolutely wicked live drum n bass DVD & CD package. Real drummer, real instruments, singer, MC and of course some samples dry.gif DVD even has an extra on how to play drum n bass live
...and of course the crowd are absolutely loving it ! Puts D'n'B in a whole new dimension.

Paul Weller - Catch Flame
Never got round to getting Days of Speed or Live Wood, but this double live recording from Ally Pally is the f***in business especially if you were at his last gig at the Muffathalle here in Munich. Includes the Style Council and Jam stuff ..basically, the same set ...and some quality wigging out on guitars and drums...

Gorillaz - Demon Days Live At The Manchester Opera DVD
An absolute classic. Not just a live recording but a happening. None of that hollogram stuff ..we're talking orchestra, band, school choir and all the stars ..Roots Manuva, De La Soul, Neneh Cherry, Shaun Ryder, etc. Mr Albarn stays at the back of the whole performance, his voice on top form. The backdrop is of course the usual graphics and they play the whole album from start to finish with a couple of extras. A DVD that I will watch again and again just for the school choir doing their 'kids from fame' style dance routine and Shaun Ryder's spot-on performance during 'Dare'.

Kanye West - Late Orchestration DVD
Not quite the performance he gave at the MTV Music Awards in Miami a couple of years ago but close. Here with an orchestra at the Abbey Road studios he romps through his two albums and has his couple of guest MCs supporting him. Highlight has to be 'Touch the Sky' with Lupe Fiasco ...and Kanye giving his heart and soul.

Keane - Under the Iron Sea
So whilst the debut was instantaneous with me, this is a grower and I was not at all sure on first listen. Especially with the vocals on 'Is it any wonder' sounding a tad too much like Bono. One Amazon reviewer is even saying Freddie Mercury ph34r.gif Fortunately for the main part, Keane remain Keane and they come up trumps again.

Global Underground - Gu10
Top 10 year collection of progressive house from the label that's had such classic mixes like Sasha's San Francisco & Ibiza on it. The even cheat on the last of this 3 disc set by having an '87-'95 mix !

Mars needs Total Science
A drum n bass album that is for the dancefloor but also for chillin' to ..with some laid back beats and vocals. Works a treat and sounds very fresh.

I just wanted to point out to England football fans the song that sticks in my head every time an England game approaches. The song is called "Smiling through the tears" by an old punk band called "Peter and the Test Tube babies"...the song is from their newest CD "A Foot Full Of Bullets"(came out last year). I can't find a stream of it...but if you like punk music, I just recommend buying the CD as there are other great songs on there too...such as "Mistress","still love the pub", or "Driven to Beers".

Apparently their real website just went down, they had a decent one too...hmm:

"Smiling Through The Tears"
(feat. Olga of Toy Dolls and Campino of Die Toten Hosen)

Last time in Germany
A 5-1 victory
This time it will be better still.

Hear the 3 Lions roar
Every time England scores
We'll take the World Cup from Brazil.

The waiting's almost over
I can feel it in the air

England will win the cup
Okay, we'll need some luck.
It'll be our first in forty years.
England will rule again
There will be no more pain.
We'll all be smiling through the tears.

No more excuses please
No more missed penalties
It's time to justify your pain.

Please leave your wives at home
You can win this on your own.
While Sven and Becks are getting laid.

The waiting's almost over
I can feel it in the air.

England will win the cup
Okay, we'll need some luck.
It'll be our first in forty years.
England will rule again
There will be no more pain.
We'll all be smiling through the tears.

Final whistle, England wins
Celebrations can begin
Could be another forty years!
Another forty years...

England will win the cup
Okay, we'll need some luck.
It'll be our first in forty years.
England will rule again
There will be no more pain.
We'll all be smiling through the tears.

Okay. Here is a better one. She's not shaking it here. More comprehensible for the human eye and maybe also for the ears...

Shakira okay version

"But in English" - says the guy at the beginning! Well, good luck to her, honestly.
Fans, please don't hate me for the previous post.
Friday
okay here is the proper version of "Whenever, wherever" from Shakira.
I htink you need to be a guy to really appreciate how hot this video is.
The lyrics are okay, although as Inflatablewoman pointed out, the bit where she sings "Lucky that my breasts are small and humble, so you don't confuse them with mountians" is a bit silly, but in her defence, she does smile when singing that as if to say "Alright I know these words are a bit stupid"

She sings pretty much the same lyric in the original spanish version aswell: "Suerte que mis pechos sean pequeños y no los confundas con montañas"

Shakira - Suerte
Friday
@ ms thanks for posting the Spanish version. I can't help noticing that there are slight differences in the choreography of the two videos, particularly the bit on the mountain top at the end of the video.

Do you need some time...on your own
Do you need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone
I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Sometimes I need some time...on my
own Sometimes I need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain, ohhh yeahhh
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame

everybody needs somebody
you're not the only one
