Kaiser Chiefs: "Employment"
It's new, it sounds old, it swaggers, it rhymes, it's gobby, it's Northern, it's mod, it rocks.
Kasabian: "Kasabian"
Go back to your teenage years with this Stone Roses-alike (but that's not a bad thing per se)
Damien Rice: "O"
Folky, Irish, quiet, downbeat, heartbreaking. But still lovely. And it has that song out of "Closer" in it.

Kaiser Chiefs and The Bravery - very smooth indeed and worth a punt.

The Bravery: "The Bravery"
They sound like New Order (so Topsy will hate them on prinicple as they are not Joy Division) and yep that's a thumbs up from me too.

Everything on the garden state soundtrack esp. the shins and theivery corp.
Right I am creaming myself over this fine piece of work.
Kaikoura Roots Festival CD from this years festival.
Fantastic mix of tunes, PLUS you get the 2004 CD as a bonus, which is just as good a CD in its own right! Lots of chilled out reggae and dub, and a few other bits and pieces too.
Theres some phat tunes in this CD its wicked. Im stoked im going to be spending long hours in the car this weekend so I can really listen to it. (Car is my favorite place to listen to music

"Devils and Dust" - Bruce Springsteen
If you always thought that Broooooce was rock and roll and holler, this may well change your mind.
It is thoughtful, quiet, dark, explicit (has a parental advisory sticker), honest and slows a social consciousness possibly not seen in Springsteen since the days of "The River"
Not an easy album, but worth a listen and then some
"Von Hier An Blind" - Wir Sind Helden
Less immediate, more mellow, less rock, more touching but still with that Heldenzeit wink

Shout Out Louds - Howl Howl Gaff Gaff - Good, melodic, unaffected Swedish indie pop. Would be sweet if they ever play in Munich.
Paul Anka - Rock Swings - Big-band treatment to some hits of the last couple decades. "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Love Cats", "Blackhole Sun", "Wonderwall", etc.

Subsurfing - Frozen AntsProbably no one has heard of this, but I promise you, if you want something completely different, this is music that sounds like its from the year 3005! Or as the above bio so eloquently describes it: "...intriguing pandemonium of cutting atmospherics, enchanting Indian textures and deranged hi-tech dub, displaying a stunning virtuosity in the combined use of electronics and live instrumentation."
It is absolutely mind blowing. And for anyone who wants a copy, just PM me (cuz it is very difficult to find this album anywhere anymore

You wouldn't be a NOFX fan by any chance would you?

"I heard they suck live" is their best album, easy.
Never heard their song:
"Insulted By Germans (Again)"
but looking at the lyrics on the net it sounds cool.
"So lets all move to Australia, Sydney city of queers
All we need to bring is American drugs and German beers"

Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
the sound of a horizonal summer, if you're any more relaxed than this then you might need resuscitation.
Guess everyone has heard it already but it wasn't listed so I listed it.
