Who's here and wants to meet up?

Just checking to see if there are any English-speakers in Mainz or Wiesbaden interested in getting together sometime? I will be working in the area during the week, so might be nice to meet up for dinner/drinks if others are interested. Also, if anyone has suggestions of good resturants/pubs in Mainz/Wiesbaden, please post!

In Wiesbaden there are few quite nice lounge bars. Lumen, Spital and Nova Lounge spring to mind. Also Vapianos has opened on Willemstraße, so I've heard. Plenty of recommendations on this forum for that restaurant. There is also one a stones throw away from my flat here in Ddorf. If you like Italian, you'll love Vapiano.

I am living in Sonnenberg and teaching English, so if anyone wants to meet for a drink some time in Wiesbaden, then I'd be interested.

Cheers

Do any Brits in Mainz and Wiesbaden want to meet up tomorrow at the Irish Pub in Augustiner Strasse in Mainz to watch the footy?
bryony
Scrooges? I asked around all the brits i know and Half are away and the other half are going to frankfurt so I dont think there will be so many people there. Why not hop on a train to frankfurt and watch it by the river?
Failing that we should all be in scrooges later

What about meeting up in Scrooges for England Trinidad game on Thursday??
bryony
Yep we will be there from 3 onwards gonna catch the costa rica game aswell.

B%!lox i've only just read this message. We ended up at the open air screen opposite the Landtag where 99% of the crowd were cheering on the Trinis. Still they weren't cheering much at the end.

There wernt actually that many people at scrooges, we were debating about going to the big screen but it looked like rain and we had the sofa at scrooges so we were reluctent to move, I have just watched the first half of argentina at the big screen its actually quite nice there.

Hi I have just moved here from New Zealand and am really keen to meet up with any fellow English speakers. Your welcome to check out my blog to get a better understanding of my personality, must warn you its not very riveting - but good for procrastinating.

Im also keen to get a travel buddy to explore Germany and the surrounding countries in the weekends.
So if you're interested in that, let me know.
Cheers

Hello! I have just accepted a job offer in Wiesbaden and will be relocating from the UK at the end of Sept / early Oct. I'll kind of be in the same boat that i don't know anyone there. Luckily i can speak fluent German so i'm not too nervous, but would still be good to meet up with some expats in the Mainz / Wiesbaden area for drinks & banter.

If there's anyone else out there too drop me a line

hi, am living in wiesbaden and would like to meet up with any english speaking people
nikio
Sounds good, I work most nights, but I am free during the weekends. I am heading to Bavaria in two weeks, then to Sicily - so if you would like to meet up before then let me know.

Take care, look forward to meeting you.

Hi just came across this thread - I'm moving to Wiesbaden next month (temporarily, that is, but will be around until the beginning of next year). Would like to meet up with a group of English-speakers around my age to maybe go out, have a few drinks etc. Are you all meeting up regularly? Can I join in? Cheers, Mark
