Tips for a girlie weekend visit to Berlin

Shopping, bars, nightclubs, and accommodation

I am looking into accommodation for a girlie weekend in Berlin in May.

I have my eye on something in Berlin-Schönerberg. Is this a nice area and how close to the centre?

Our activities will include usual sightseeing and shopping during the days and hitting bars and any good clubs around at night.

We are not fussed on luxury as we'd rather spend the extra pennies on shoes and booze biggrin.gif

Does anyone have any tips?

Schönerberg is a nice area in West Berlin and not to far from the centre.
For touristy stuff + shopping anything in Charlottenburg would be better, as it is a posh area and most of the shops in Berlin are there around Ku'Damm (The Berlin answer to Oxford Street) for example KaDeWe (The Berlin answer to Harrods). tongue.gif
Wilmersdorf would be ok as well.

For night clubs anything in Mitte is best, I know Prenzlauerberg (East Berlin) is the cutting edge/trendy place to be nowadays and most edgy clubs are there but personally I hate it, full of skinheads and beggars by night but if the extreme alternative scene is your thing you might want to head there.
