Hi All,

I have just moved to Germany, the Heidelberg area :$ , and am looking for Sat installers to install a dish so that I can get Sky Freesat.

Can anyone list / name / recommend anyone in the area ?

Thanks

any sat installer ie. sat shop can do it. I bought a digibox off someone here, put the dish up myself on the balcony and got someone from a local sat shop to align it. cost me i think 30 euros.

You can still recieve Sky subscription channels (assuming you want to). As long as you still have your old card, which you should, you can ring up sky customer services and just telll them to turn it back on at the package you require. The person living at the address the card is registered to will have strange bill arriving but that should not be much of a problem smile.gif Important tip though: DONT PLUG THE BOX INTO THE PHONELINE -EVER :excl:

If you do, it WILL successfully dial the UK who will then immediatly know you are not in the UK and lock out the card.

Also, Beeb 1 and 2 can be ropey due to the restricted footprint they broadcast on, the rest of the channels hould be fine though smile.gif

get the misses to walk 1 KM from the house at 28.2 degrees east of south, using a compass.
point dish at the misses!
get kids or friend to look at the TV
move dish up and down till signal is received! twiddle about till signal is the strongest!
watch the latest match on box, crack a few beers, go to bed
get up again and call misses back in house!
Beat you Satman! tongue.gif

Don't ring from Germany. Only from UK address, where card is registered. Number might be in display of person you call.

The only way my missus would WALK 1Km would be to meet George Clooney.!!! LOL.

Seriously though ... can't anyone find a way arond this stupid " must have a UK address " stumbling block.? I would willingly pay SKYs subscriptions to get the service. Don't see why I should have to pay a German company to "supply" me with a false UK address.

Raffles.

Theoretically there is no way around having to pay for a UK adress... (unless you have a relative that does it for the love of their familly)

Its not too expensive these days..150 for the first year, plus subs then 99€ per year after that... By using a company that is set up for doing this sort of thing, the need for your friends to lie to sky on your behalf is removed and less emarrasement when things do go wrong!

The reason you cannot subscribe legitimately, is all down to the Copy right properties of the show being Broadcast!

Just as you cannot officially subscribe to premiere in the UK.. (officially)

Slight addition to this.

Don't ring from a German Mobile or Landline. If you have a voice over IP supplier like Skype with Skype-Out (at a UK number ... mine is 0207) then you can use this fine smile.gif

I did and had no worries smile.gif

edit: DOH! Looks like my chick was last signed in on my laptop ... "Hello Charlie!" hehehe.
