BMW.de is a non-starter on google

It would seem that BMW have been caught out and are now suffering the indigity of being "black balled" by Google, at the time of writing this, a Google search for BMW.de will turn up nothing except asking if you have spelt the page correctly!

QUOTE
The reason for the ban is likely to be that the BMW websites have been caught employing a technique used by black-hat search engine optimizers: doorway pages. As you may know, a doorway page is stuffed full of keywords that the site feels a need to be optimized for; however, as opposed to real pages, this doorway is only displayed to the Googlebot.

It's nice to see that even Bavarian big boys are not too big to get their wrists slapped.

Sorry, no information is available for the URL BMW.de

Thats what you should get ... like I just did unsure.gif

There is plenty of BMW related stuff but the BMW.de site is not what I get. I used the Google tool bar and I'm still not getting BMW Deutschland's home page.

Slackmack is right...there is no info on Google for bmw.de (or www.bmw.de) - see the attached image. If you just type in bmw or bmw.com, you will find a load of stuff - but whilst it will include the international site bmw.com, it will not mention bmw.de at all.

Seen. It works fine from the Google tool bar but not from the google de web page
