Aren't we all salesmen or saleswomen? We all try to sell ourselves for the most profit so we can buy a nice car or house or impress the birds. Even you IT programming people are adding your value to the product that gets sold to clients. That's what makes the world turn, I'm afraid.

I think its a difference between normal working to live, or an obsession for money.

People who work directly in sales are mostly obsessed with money. Me likes money too, but there are quite a few other things in life that appeal to me more to me than dosh. I daresay I am not the only one who thinks that being material is a sad sad way to impress others. Okay, it may impress in the beginning, but beauty is only skin deep... rolleyes.gif

Can anyone tell me what the German term for excess is (in the the context of insurance)?

Hi just a quick question. I've just got another 'krankmeldung' for the 3rd week running. I'm not sure how all this KK stuff works tbh. But does the KK pay my employer for my wages whilst I'm signed off?
TT-Tripple Trouble
If you are working the boss has to pay for 6 weeks after that The KK pays for you did that help you darling wub.gif
Hellie
Yep great TT! So that means after 6 weeks, if God forbid I'm still signed off, the KK pay the employer directly?
TT-Tripple Trouble
No the KK pays you direkt after 6 weeks not the boss wink.gif

Hi

I haven't read all the posts, but if we are comparing Health Insurance, I'm paying a private policy and it costs 198Euro per month, my employer pays half which means I only pay half of this. The scheme is fully private, covers you world wide, and is only available for expats and not native residents. You have to be foreign to apply and not plan to retire in Germany, and the policy stops when you leave. As policies go, I believe its very comprehensive, covers dental and eyes and glasses and things which I think is extra on some, and its an Allianz policy. Suits me! biggrin.gif
PM me if you want any details. (the broker is english-speaking, and has supplied me with a list of english-speaking doctors, dentists and opticians too!).
