ITV 1 & 2

I've just been informed that ITV 1 and 2 are now available free over satellite. I've just done a quick search and hey, I can watch The Bill on Wednesday and Thursday evenings

Of course it's German Sat. I've been here that long now the only thing missing is the Ausweis!

OK, thicko here. How do I tune in to get these channels? Not sure how to work my satellite box - ordinary one, not Sky, obviously. Tried using the details on the other thread about this and got nothing so I know I`m doing something wrong.

You need a dish pointing at Astra2 @ 28°east..

even better the dish (100cm) only cost me 33 euros with LNB by ebay

Cheers for the info guys. I`m putting in all that and still getting nothing so it must be the dish or something. I`ll give it another go and see what happens and then probably call from some desperate professional help

Remagen - famous for that bridge in WW2 over the Rhein? Film made about it? It`s about 20 mins by road to the outskirts of Bonn.

Right, tried that too, and didn't get anything, other than QVC (When I used the wrong polarisation!)

So q to anyone who has an idea, how do I find out to which Sat my dish is pointing without climbing on the roof?
Also do I need a digital reciever or should analogue work?

Ps wish I could help KazAV but as you can see I am not Sat literate either. A trip to Remagen wouldn't be too bad from here. Have done it by boat from köln a couple of times.

You can only get these channels with a digital receiver..

If you are receiving more than one German channel with your receiver, then you are probably on Astra1 @19°east

Right, that narrows down my chances of receiving it then. Need to go off and spend some money to start with then.

Then there is the slight problem of it pointing to the wrong sat.

Are there any options in such a situation other than the bleeding obvious of course, as If I point the dish at Astra 2 I can imagine my mrs will not be too happy.

Whilst out shopping for a new Digital RX... buy a dvb-t receiver for her in doors...

Nice idea, not sure I can get that past her, but might be worth a try, she might not even notice it is dvbt, just tell her she needs to use a different remote control to me.
