Like your music a bit harder?

OK, so if you like your music a little harder then here are my tips for the weekend. Don't think I'm going to either, as I've got no money and am chilling this weekend clubbing wise ready for LTJ Bukem & Erlend Oye next weekend.

Firstly, tonight (Fri 21st May) at Harry Klein Carl Craig is playing. I saw him play in Berlin last month and he was great. A great little club and a brilliant DJ - I strongly recommend this one.

Secondly, tomorrow (Sat. 22nd May) at (nachtwerk) The Club Chris Liebing is playing for the regular Sat. night - Electric Delicate.
Chris Liebing is a bit of a legend, been around since 1991, coined the term "Schranz", which describes a type of Techno popular in Germany (which I hate), and is generally a well respected DJ.

So if you're up for it then take your pick, or go to both. Sorry for no pics this time, but it's not like anyone is going to either of these. Even I'm not! ohmy.gif

I believe the Dub Pistols are about tonight or tomorrow too...

Yeah it's tonight, but at Funky Kitchen sad.gif

Oh, I may as well not have posted it then. I would NEVER advise somebody to go to the Funky Kitchen - I personally think the place should be burned down.

quick review... craig was horrible. he's a detroit techno legend but he's either bored with the scene now or just had a really really off night. his mixing was HORRENDOUS and his track selection was just average at best. definitely didn't build much of a mood in the room even though it was packed out and people in general seemed to be having a good time.

i went to liebing thinking i would maybe last an hour in the big room and then spend the rest of the night in the garden where i knew some house djs were spinning... wandered into liebing's kingdom around 2am and was FLOORED... guy banged it out till 9 [10?] in the morning with one unbelievable track after another... mixing was flawless and his sound wasn't nearly as hard or soulless as it used to be... very very impressive effort. pics @ www.2monthsoff.com... i'll have the set up for download next week...

btw... if any of you really want a taste of the most unusual people in all of munich, try hitting up club4 afterhours on a sunday morning... it's a people zoo ;-) hilarious.

happy monday...

Never been to the Funky Kitchen but the place next door, Die Registratur is outstanding. The music is really top notch with DJ's mixing on the spot. Last time I was there there were three DJ's, one with a computer, one with a turntable, one with a bass guitar, all trading singing and it was unreal. The scene made up of people who shun 4004; they aren't as easy to look at but at least they have souls.

@ireibling - I'm suprised at the DJs you saw this weekend. I've seen them both in the last few months and had the opposite experience to you! Oh well, shows how unreliable DJs can be I guess.
Thanks for the report.
