So I have made a decision to go by the majority of the votes and have chosen the date - 11th February.
Who would like to come and where shall we go. If it's in Köln, one of the Cologne lot will have to do the organising..

They used to, but I haven't been in there for a long time. However there are loads of eating places in the area.

according to
this web site, the kitchen is open until 10pm.
Without wishing to put anyone off, this is the pub that was closed several times in the last few years due to "unsavoury" cooking facilities (ALLEGEDLY!!!) ... vegetarians may want to check for rat parts ...

Ok it's looking that it's going to be Cologne.
As our last train leaves at 22:21 for Hagen / Wetter we'd better arrange to meet earlier and I would suggest 4pm. Us Hagen / Wetter lot want to do a bit of shopping beforehand so if we caught the 12:39 train, we'd have enough time to do that.

There is marginal chance of me putting in a late evening appearance ... although I have to put up with neilg the whole week, so not 100% yet.
Suspect Loopy is concerned the discussion may turn to football, and she would be a little out of her depth.

Ok, so a quick recap, Maaph may be putting in a late appearance if he can be bothered, Loopy may be coming if I turn up (fnarr, fnarr), and I may turn up if the planets are alligned in the correct constellation. Think thats it so far.

I've just been looking again at trains and the last possible one we could take would be 23.54, any later than that and we would have to buy two Wochenend tickets.
If you'd prefer we could meet up at five instead of four but I think
five is the latest we should meet.
Regarding food I'll let you decide that with the other Kölners, perhaps you should go to the Harp and check its food out for us again!

Just if we are going to be going somewhere else, you'll definately have to reserve a table.

Ye can pencil me in as a starter as well (thanks Paul for the PM notification). Unless I'm mistaken, the 11th of Feb. is a Saturday so the time (4 or 5 or whatever) is not important to me. I suppose I'd have to catch a train at Wuppertal at least an hour before.

Actually, for the Bavarians, all the other Germans are "Prussians"... Just as all the Americans from non-confederate states are Yankies, and in the Netherlands there is Holland... France, Ile de France?, Shall we go on? Is there a pattern emerging here?
Although I always thought Britain was everything on the Island more than 50 miles from London.
And a big thanks to Bombi for adding me to the list

-- No need to ask, always just add a "?"
Just wonder about the Harp, though. Have they added an annex since the last time I was there? I don't remember them having a table big enough for 20 people -- Maybe it's just the age showing
