We do worry about you, you know!
BTW are you going to change your name now from Neilg to the guy?!

It would at least then mean one less Neil on the board!

So final arrangements for Cologne, the "Hagen bunch" are catching the 13.39 train from Hagen, the train arrives in Wuppertal at 14.04 and Cologne at 14.38, this gives us enough time to do some shopping and to find the place... Directions from the locals from the city centre would be appreciated.
@Neil, the CVJM Book and Flea market is on that day, your wife was interested in visiting it so if you want, we can meet in the CVJM...

oh the wonders of google ..
The Harp, with numerous maps.
Any Kölners made any other arrangements .. I haven't!
EDIT: just noticed earlier post - Christiane has booked for 20 people.

Feb 2 2006, 2:34 pm
it's all in German though, and tell us something useful like is it walking distance of the train station?

I assume we're risking the pub food?
Just been told at lunch that there is a chocolate factory, has anybody been?
@neilg: are you gracing us with your presence?
maaph
Feb 2 2006, 2:42 pm
It is within walking distance, reckon about 15-20 mins from station. You could always get the U-Bahn to Friesenplatz .. it is a mere hop and a step from there.
Yes there is a chocolate factory, yes I have been, no don't know how expensive, but it is in the wrong direction to the pub. You can take a green and yellow tourist train along the river if you like, but I don't know how much that costs either.
grrrr!

Loopy
Feb 2 2006, 3:30 pm

I've not even looked at the train times yet. I could aim for earlier but someone mentioned shopping
@Bully: think the pub doesn't open till five, although we could meet for a pre-drink drink somewhere else first

Feb 2 2006, 3:37 pm

Well it's on the calender, albeit in pencil. Though this year most things seem to be in pencil on there until we have actually done them.
I only have one slight problem, that is, I am having a wisdom tooth removed not long before the event, and I noticed last time I had one removed I seemed to have less of an appitite for beer/anything afterwards.
Nice top BBulldog! Suits you, will you be wearing it to the pub this time?

I wasn't worried about that Neil (In fact I figured it might lighten up the evening a bit), I was more worried about the beer dribbling down the side of my face.

Its 5 min walk from there down Venloerstraße...

@Bully: just noticed you mentioned an English shop (was side-tracked before by your top), is it any good?
Just wondering as the one in Stuttgart was ok, but the one in Tübingen only stocked 57 different kinds of 'homebaked' biscuits, dodgy 70's paperbacks, and tea cosies
Don't want to get my hopes up, but my dead fly biscuit supply is at a dangerously low level and I have no extra-strong mints left... I'm in serious danger of not lasting the week

Feb 6 2006, 4:25 pm
It's quite well stocked I think, especially since the extension after M&S moved out (It it situated behind the old M&S Building) leaving it as the only place to get English stuff in Cologne. Good dvd library too but only good if you live in Cologne so that you can take them back!
