I can recommend the Hotel Sautter

...as it's not too far from the centre, not expensive, a nice family-run place with a good restaurant. I used to use it regularly before I moved here.

My husbands boss stays here all them time, it is really nice there. They have an internet special of EUR 91 inc Breakfast for that date. It's near the S Bahn to get to the Calwer Eck,

Can anyone point in the right direction of some good hotels in Stuttgart, specifically for the World Cup?

Cheers.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I phoned a decent hotel I know of (Hotel Sautter) to try and find out about availability for sometime next June for my brother and sis-in-law, and they're fully booked for the whole of June and first half of July, and I think you'll find all other hotels will be the same.

Your best bet is probably to look further out of Stuttgart itself for somewhere that's still on the u-/s-bahn network and you could still get quickly into the city using public transport. Unfortunately, I can't give you any recommendations though -- you'd just have to try pot luck on the internet.

The Etap hotel up near feurbach (spelling) is pretty decent and very cheap.

You can only book rooms 100 days in advance so it shouldn't be booked out yet, just have to time your booking perfectly and get in first.

There is a U-bahn stop just outside the front door too..

The Fontana in Vaihingen is good. Directly next to the Sbahn straight into Stuttgart .

However last month on the radio they were discussing how hotel prices in and around Stuttgart are all prebooked and all prices have trebled. Average price for a room if you can get one is currently about €600.
