Does anyone know anywhere in Nuremberg, or close by, where they show films in English?. Not too bothered if they've got german subtitles.

Look in the local paper, If a film is advertised with the letters OV next to it , then it should be in English but with German subtitles.

Only if the film was originally filmed in English
OV = Original Version

Strange, I've got TV5 (french channel) on here, there's a french film running with french sub-titles...
Try looking for "Programm-Kino", they generally show original versions all the time.
In your common or garden multiplex, they generally only show OVs on particular evenings (often Tues/Wed) mid-week. The weekly programme normally changes on a Thursday, so Thu/Fri/Sat, and holidays, are usually given over to getting the house full of germans, and "Montag ist Kinotag" it's cheaper then, so they often don't show OVs then either.

The Roxy in Nuremberg shows films in English (
www.roxy-nuernberg.de) and other "foreign languages".
