I did ask him if it was necessary for us all to listen to his music and he carried on. dry.gif

I was wearing a suit and considered that rolling around a carriage before a day of meetings might not be the best thing . . laugh.gif

does anyone know if MVV have some sort of complaints process? I travel in every morning on the S2 from Feldkirchen, on the 8:06. Now it's late - not just little late, between 5-10 mins EVERY day. To the extent that for the last 3 weeks I've been recording the actual time when it arrives at Ostbahnhof. I now would like to present them with this shocking data, and ask for an explanation, or at least some feedback.

Any ideas where I could sent it?

Thanks.

I'm not sure exactly who you have to contact for an s-bahn, but I know that you can complain directly about bus drivers/bus times. You just have to call them up. So it would probably work the same way. There should be a number on the website.

"Anregung & Kritik" is the one you want I guess.

Call me a noob, but is it normal for the S-Bahn to stink of cat piss?
I've taken about 3 trains in the past couple of weeks that stank horribly.
Plus the S6 is constantly late as well.
deep_schismic
the S-Bahn has been pretty shoddy of late...I know this using the Rosenheimer Platz s-bahn stop on a daily basis and am affected by the delays that seem to happen quite often at Ostbahnhof...I find it the most shocking when the delays happen during Rush hour..it reminded me of using the wonderful (wonderfully shite that is) train system back in Melbourne! Luckily, the Munich train system has a LONG way to go before it can compared to the quality of service (or lack thereof) in Melbourne!

Back in October I missed my morning train to Hamburg (via a quick S-bahn trip to Hbf), and thought I was screwed cuz it was a bahn.bonus free ride with a reservation...luckily the guy at the Reisezentrum was well-aware of the s-bahn issues and happily booked me on the next train..

Noob,

Probably human piss. I have never seen a cat in an S Bahn.

You know you've been in Germany too long when the fact that a train is 5 to 10 minutes late enrages you, and forces you to take a note of how late it was on a daily basis. Seriously, you're from the UK. My train would be cancelled or late (I mean, an hour late) at least once a week, just because a driver wouldn't show up, or there were leaves on the lines.

At least not in a condition to piss in the corners, being in a cat carrier and all. Been there, done that often enough. But if a cat in a cat carrier decides to urinate and the owner surreptitiously tips the ensuing liquid onto a seat or onto the floor you do have a problem. Cat piss has a distinctive smell not to be confused with human waste. I would never call someone a noob without first verifying the facts.

If three trains (in all likelihood different ones) stank of any kind of piss in a two week period Non-Noob Eggy has every right to complain.

@ Eggy: If it happens again confer with your co-passengers to find out how many else smell whatever it may be, then contact the MVG/Deutsche Bahn. It means that their cleaners are probably falling down on the job.
MonksTown
The trains are cleaned every day and I guess there is the possibility of cleaning the train if there is a serious mess inside everytime it rn via ostbahnhof, IF the S-bahn GmbH is informed.
The piss smell is probably either on a late train or if a homeless guy has had an "accident" or i simply stinking the train out.
Darkknight
I doubt all trains are cleaned every day.. I've run across full garbage bins on the 1st trains of the day (0500)
I have also seen news papers from 2-3, even 4 days still on the overhead rack..
gideon
It may also be the smell of a break block sticking on one of the wheels.
Darkknight
Nope.. That smells like burning metal.. Or grinding metal for those who have used a metal grinder..

Thanks sarabyrd! <3
It did smell distinctly of cat piss, I suppose I could be wrong, doesn't matter really. It stank wink.gif

On a second note, has anyone here ever noticed that german people are always getting in the way?
Are they really never in a hurry, or do I just drink too much coffee?

I frequently have to switch trains at Ostbahnhof (my gf tells me S6 sucks because parts of it are very old and narrow), which means going down and coming back up on the other side.
I miss trains all the time because of the annoying people who feel entitled to taking up the entire width of the stairs while climbing very slowly.
I realize there are more trains coming, but sometimes it takes several minutes and it's kind of annoying when I know there's a train waiting for me at the top!

There are some really bad things that you can find,
a hot bus in summer with ripe people on board...
but it beats the heck out of none at all.
I opened up a small bar on the Ubahn and
served everyone one night. What a party,
everyone joined in. Not possible in the US.
Keydeck
I thought that was going to read like a poem. I guess I was wrong.
one2many
It's what you think it is. No rhyme for ripe people possible,
but Jack and coke on the Ubahn... Priceless.
