After school activities

Hi there,

Like many primary state schools in Germany, ours unfortunately closes at around 12.15 so we're trying to find some activites, eg. sports, creative stuff etc.. for our kids here in Bonn. We're already members of the local interational swim verein but that just provides 1 or 2 late afternoon sessions per week - leaving still 3-4 empty afternoons to fill ohmy.gif !!

Any ideas from fellow Bonners would be greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

How far are you able to travel? The Turnverein in Bad Honnef (TV Eiche) is good and has something on offer every afternoon. There are other Turnverein all over Bonn look in the phone book or google. They are quite good value as once you have paid the annual membership the activity is available every week.

The Yamaha Musikschule in the Nordstadt is also very good but pricey. Contact me by PM if you want more details.

Thanks Rebecca for the ideas. The Turnverein in Bad Honnef sounds interesting. We were hoping to find something involving team sports - hockey, basketball etc and/or art and crafts. There is a nice hockey club were we live - Dottendorf but it could be a bit expensive so we're kind of looking for alternatives if possible.

Anyway, thanks for the help

My girlfriend trains kids in Tabletennis for Fortuna Bonn, if they're interested give me a shout I can put you in touch, I know she's looking for young kids to start training early.

Training times are:

Tuesday 16:30 – 18:00 Schüler/Anfänger

Wednesday 17:00 – 19:30 Schüler/Anfänger

if they turn out to be talented then extra private training can be organised (or further training with the youth teams)

I know it doesn't take up much afternoon time but it's at least a couple of hours.
