Airbus A380 visits to Hamburg

I've just received info that the first A380 to land in Germany is due at 12 noon on 8.Nov.2006. The best place to view it will be round the back of Airbus in Finkenwerder, where the back entrance is. Another good place to be will be Teufelsbrueck not far from S-Bahn Klein Flottbek.

This information was sent by SMS to my phone from NDR televison and radio at 11:30 and has not been confirmed. The weather should be perfect for photos.

Expect pure chaos in Hamburg on the 8th as the QM2 is due as well!

Bloody typical that I won´t be flying to Hamburg tomorrow!! would love to see it land - have seen it from afar a few times in Toulouse though.

I thought the first A380 to land in Germany did so in Frankfurt the other week...?

First landing... my source was not so accurate! TIME HAS CHANGED as well to 2pm and the A380 will come in from behind Airbus and not over the Elbe, according to two new sources.

Toulouse is a great place. I was in Airbus in 2003 for training. If anyone has not seen Toulouse, you can see the photos on my website in the Hamburg Gallery - see my profile. I'm hoping to go again, as flights are now as low as 1 cent from Hamburg with German Wings. Allow loads of time if you go, as the traffic jams can get really annoying there! The Metro trains are weird... no drivers!

If anyone can remember the massive explosion that took place there a few years back, there are still signs of it to be seen.

Anyway, I'll be behind Airbus (not the main entrance) on a dyke that runs parallel with the runway, along with all the plane spotters - I'll be the one witout the anorak! If all goes well, I'll be taking photos and making a video... I'll need three hands for that

Look what happened the last time I was there... don't watch planes while driving!

Bit blurred. What did you use to take the piccys ?? - A telescope ??

I guess the blurring around the edges is the extra zoom lens. I get that with mine.
