I'm an American student who will be visting Munich this summer, and really want to see !!! (
chik chik chik) at the Atomic Cafe (July 12th). But I'm still 16...is it concievable that I could get in? I've looked everywhere, to no avail. Is it even legal for a 16 year old to dabble in the Munich nightlife?

From what I understand, you are allowed to be in a nightclub from age 16 on, but under-18s have to leave by midnight. I don't go to Atomic Cafe very often, but most places in Munich don't ID people. If you look especially young, you might have a bit more trouble, but give it a go anyways.

There is also an under 18 rule at places like the hard rock. I have seen groups of Italian kids get turned away since they can't serve (food or drink to) those under 18 past 10 pm unless with a chaperone.

I know a 15-year-old who gets in everywhere regularly, including P1. She's had success getting into clubs since the age of 13; occasionally she and her friends get stopped at the door if the doormen are in a bad mood.
At your age, you'll get in somewhere in town on any given night provided you dress trendily. It definitely helps if you're attractive too.

Thank you guys so much for your help! I think (therefore I hope) that if I have a ticket for the show I won't be turned down, but either way, I'll be sure to dress snappily.
