there is one near me called cafe vor ort. Really good food. I don't know the address or anything but if you need it let me know

Prinz Myshkin has beautiful food (vegetarian doesn't mean diet here though! Vegan dishes are available) but get crowded very very quickly so you may need to reserve, the window seats are like gold dust. Good wine list too.

The Vegetarian page has been updated, and a new page added:

Non-Smoking Restaurants in Munich

Cafe Vorort is also included. Do they have a non-smoking section? The two so often go together... plenty of space on those pages to suggest more restaurants! wink.gif

Mildly on topic...When it comes to food, the French are the most descriptive nation on earth. They have a word for bloody everything in the kitchen, but no proper french word for vegetarians.

Don_r, there is a reason for the French being tounge tied about vegetarians.

If I were to rate the worst European countries for a vegie, Spain is the absolute worst, with Portugal, and France vying for second place. Germany is way better than any of those countries. Mind you I've also heard dire things about the czech republic.

Note I'm talking about real vegetarians, not the I'm vegetarian, but I eat fish brigade.

what about végétarien(ne)?
don_riina
As I said, no proper word. Thats an import.

what about 'pflanzenfresser'? that should get the message across. tongue.gif

Oh I get you don, you mean like how instead of computer they say Ordinateur, and you'd prefer they _translate_ "vegetarian" instead of just frenchifying -- like well according to my dictionary French for "herbivore" is "herbivore", no luck there... how about "Plantazoide"? or "Mangeur des Plantes"? Suggest it to the Academie Francaise, it's probably been bothering people for years! wink.gif
