Talks end between the CDU/CSU and Greens with no agreement and no plans for further talks. Looks like the Schwample is dead.

There are only 4 parties that can join together to form a majority coalition, so somebody is gonna have to eat crow.

Fair point, but it's looking more and more unlikely.

I'm guessing we'll have a Grand Coalition by next week.

As far a new vote is concerned, the latest poll points to a situation no clearer than what we currently have:

I'm not sure of the details but at lunch today someone said that the VP (?) gave a speech yesterday in which she said that there will be a grand coalition but without Schröder or Merkel and they all seem to think this is a possibility - but I might have misunderstood something...
