hi, we are new to the forum and are about to move to berlin, still have no idea where though! do any of you know where i can find out the grundschule addresses as we want a place to live near the schools (because of the extreme early starting time of 7:30) and also near the berlin mitte where work will be at "charite".
any tips would be great! thanks

Hi I'm living in Berlin (well actually just outside of it, left the city centre a year ago, but I still work there)

Here you can do a search for all the Grundschulen in Berlin (you can do a district search)

Just out of curiosity, where are you from? Are your children bilingual?

hi, thanks for tha answer, why did you move out of berlin - we are looking at places in the middle or near. we hope to come to flat search from 6th to 9th of september. there are certainly plenty of places on offer so should be no problem to get a flat and only then can we try the school search - i like the idea of the european schools teaching in english and german but only if we live near enough.

we have 2 bilingual kids, nearly 6yrs old and 7 years old and we are a british- indian mixture! looking forward to moving!

hello,

my wife and i are moving to berlin in march and need some advice as far as schooling is concerned. we are considering moving to schöneberg as we are both in the film business and it seems like the place to be as far as meeting people. but our highest priority is the happiness of our 2 angels :-) of course :-O

my daughter is 5 and my son is 4 and they are both tri-lingual (english, german & czech!) so we are pretty flexible with regards to putting them into a local school, or a bi-lingual school as long as it is a good one. i've heard that in berlin there is a boom in foreign language schools, so something with a bit of czech would be an added bonus.

we would love to get them right into something as soon as we arrive in march, but the main priority is for september, when my daughter will be old enough for the "big-girl" school!

any advice would be greatly appreciated, also if you have any recommendations for location, lay it on us smile.gif

thanks in advance,

denis
