Hi!
I'm looking for tips and ideas regards sport clubs in the Cologne, Neuss, Düsseldorf area. I use a sports club at the moment - but only the gym as I then don't need to talk much/understand the others!
My German is ok - but would like the opportunity to do, for example, aerobics etc. without thinking to much about what I am supposed to be doing.
So if anyone can give me a few tips I'd be grateful!

Hi,
I am looking for sport tips..well..not much of sport tips, rather finding people who are into sport, outdoor activities to go sporting and hangout with.
I go to fitness company in Duesseldorf semi-regularly, sometimes go biking and running if the weather permits.
I am also into climbing, and go climbing occasionally. The climbing hall i go has english speaking staff. Granted, they are not super fluent, but they are pretty good.
Anyone up for a chat here?

I think it starts at 7pm or so, that's what my friend has organized.
Usually people stay till 10-11. It might not be ideal for you to go this time then, coz it costs nearly 10 euros for entrance and using the facilities there. After 9, you might get there around 9:30...sooooo...a bit too pricy for 1.5 hours I think.
I haven't been climbing for so many months, tomorrow will be the first time getting back.
Anyway, I PM you for details about the hall and biking/climbing stuff.

Hey hellsbell, i just came back from a sport center kinda thing near LTU Arena...a place just next to the exhibition center (Messe). It is massive there, tennis court, football field, even i saw some kids doing ruby, there is an indoor center where they even have tracks...crazy. I know there is a gym too, but i did not go in, and it was my first time going there anyway.
I was there for a semi-private training ...not sure exactly how it is organized, but there was this old guy who was previously an athetic ...some kind of sport fanatic i guess...and he was trainning a bunch of rather mature people like training a team of footballers, very interesting style, but I think it's much better than those lame aerobic exercise classes available from any commerical gym (i speak from my experience).
He will require you to do a lot of unconventional exercise but you will get to train the muscles you are never even aware you have them. Really cool. I don't know what he was talking completely either, but you just follow what others do, easy peacy.
Basically it will start with some warm up exercise, and then some fitness training using ONLY your body weight, plus a lot of stretching, and some running. I highly recommend it.
Since it was my first time going there, I don't know who lots of it, but I heard he charges only 2 euro each time, but you can pay 40 euro for a whole year of training. And he trains 3 times a week, (mon, wed and fri) There are 2 sessions, one starts from 6:30 and the other starts at 7:30. Each lasts for an hour obviously. He did not charge me this time, I guess he thinks I was there to see if this suits me. Very nice. I will definitely go there again. Thinking the next Monday.
If you are interested, I can send you more info, but even I need to check on the internet about the address and get more info from my friend who just took me there today.

Hey it's in Duesseldorf.
The instructor doesn't speak English, but I actually don't see it as a big problem. If you are interested in going, PM me or post here. We can go there together one day.

Speaking German is no problem for me. I might have a friend who would come with me too.
I'll talk to her & see what she says =)

The place is just right next to LTU Arena, where it has a huge area for all sort of sport facilities, an indoor sport center, tennis court, football field, etc.
If works don't get too busy, I plan to go there tomorrow at 6:30, it ends at 7:30. Then posssibly join Mountaingoat for the drinks in altstadt.
It runs on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Two sessions. 1st at 6:30 then the 2nd at 7:30
If i go, I only know to go there by bike, so let me know if anyone wants to go, and we can arrange to bike to the place together (if you need instruction).

Today i read something at the gym about a RTL or something like that will have a light show right at the Sportpark in LTU Arean at 7:30, so not sure the trainning will still be carried on.
I did not understand every single word on the paper, so I can't say for sure. But because of that I don't think I will go there tomorrow.
If anyone wants to join me to that trainning someday, please post.
