does anyone know if it is possible to buy cool whip in munich..or germany in general?? i have yet to see it anywhere in europe... cept of course military bases..but that doesnt really help me. so yea... if anyone has seen it somewhere here pleeeeease let me know! thanx
I have never ever seen if for sale here.
But here's a recipe for it, if you feel up to making your own.

1 teaspoon gelatin
2 teaspoons cold water
3 tablespoons boiling water
1/2 cup ice water
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons oil

Chill a small mixing bowl.

Soften gelatin with 2 teaspoons cold water, then add boiling water, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved. Cool until tepid.

Place ice water and nonfat dry milk in the chilled
bowl. Beat at high speed until mixture forms stiff peaks. Add sugar, still beating, then oil and gelatin.
Place in freezer about 15 minutes then transfer to refrigerator until ready for use. Stir before using to
retain creamy texture.

Makes 2 cups.
i guess a cool whip is an american thing...

(i admit to reading this mail completely wrongly first time round)
I think Cool Whip was invented in Canada...It's one of our greatest discoveries?? After Shania Twain of course.
Thank you so much for the Cool Whip recipe!!!

Cool Whip was introduced in 1967 by the Birds Eye division of General Foods.
Cool Whip technology was invented by Tommy Finucane, a scientist at the Tarrytown Laboratories of General Foods (Tarrytown Newyork).
Cool Whip is manufactured in Avon, New York for the United States and Canadian markets.
I have an awesome cool whip recipe called pink stuff (that's really the name)

1 can cherry pie filling
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 lg. can crushed pineapple (drained)
12 oz. Cool Whip

Mix it all together and freeze. YUMMY!!!

omfg, i utterly give up.
OMG - I thought this thread was going to be about something totally different!

It sounds like a calorie bomb to me! :-))
The calories are only the tip of the iceberg on that nasty stuff....

cool whip experiment
you could make your own frosting (or icing as some of us call it)? just for example... or even...

Canuck's link has given me the willies.
Ah, the Cool Whip, not a cool whip.

I suppose you could combine them both and whip up a surprise
RUF Schlag Creme
If "CoolWhip" is similar to "Dream Topping" in the UK then what your looking for in German supermarkets is "Schlag creme" made by the firm RUF You´ll find it by the Instant Puddings and jellies.
