I used to eat this stuff regularly back home (US) but haven't found it here yet although admittedly I haven't looked very hard.
Does anyone know if McCann's Irish Oatmeal or something similar is available here? These are the whole, steel-cut oats that I'm looking for. Otherwise I keep on eating muslix.
Danke,

Yeh i eat that stuff too - its kernel oatmeal or kernige haferflocken in the supermarket. You'll find it in any Plus and it's super cheap.

No, have not found it.
A reasonable substitute is Hafer Grütze (porridge); the only brand I have seen is Neuform, which is in the Vitalität stores. I toast it in a dry pan for a few minutes before cooking it in a big pyrex measuring dish in the microwave. If cooked untoasted it doesn't taste like much. Cooking it in the microwave allows you to go take a shower or whatever without worrying about it boiling over.

I have never eaten McCann's irish oatmeal... but am looking for Quaker oatmeal. Are they the same thing? If so, I'll look into the alternative suggested above.
But does anyone know where I can buy Quaker oatmeal in Munich??
Thanks!
