Due to the numerous requests I've received, (okay, one or two), here's the info about when my band is again playing.
We are playing at the Haderner Dorffest. This takes place at the end of the U6, at the Klinikum Grosshadern stop. Get off at the back of the train, look around, spot the big beer tent and you have the right spot.
We are playing Sunday, May 16th, from about 12:30-15:00 and again on Thursday, May 20th (it's a holiday) from 11:00-15:00. So, if you are looking for something to do, come along. There will be beer, there will be music, there will be men in lederhosen.

What sort of band is this Showem? Ooompah oompah? I'd be up for a beer on the 20th for sure.

Men in Lederhosen!
What's the price of a mass out there is in the sticks?
Isn't there some bloody CSU politician speaking somtime?
When? Cos I'll want to avoid that delight!

Yeah, it's oom-pah music, but with swing, big band and some other stuff thrown in for variety. The Thursday gig is always good fun.
Grtho, you are right, they always have some politician speaking on the Sunday. We have the drudgery of starting at 10:30 to play for half an hour, then waiting around for up to 90 minutes while the politicians blather on. That's why I put the times down as 12:30 onwards on Sunday.
How much is a beer? I'm sorry, I don't know. I always get mine for free since I'm with the band.

Pootle, providing I'm alive, Thursday holiday afternoon beers sound like a very civilised idea. Might dig out the lederhosen as it is getting into the Fest season!

Just saw a poster on the way to work today:
Sundays speakers are
Hans Podiuk: Leader of the CSU on Munich City Council.
Aribert Wolf: CSU Dodgy Elections geezer Extrodinaire
Bernd Pösselt CSU Candidate for the European Parliament and such a round ugly moustachioed bavarian blimp that you couldn't make it up!
So looks like I'll be going Thursday then.
Found the Lederhosen at the back of the cupboard last night!

But as it German's "Fathers Day" Thursday, it's gonna be chokkers so we might need to get tehre early for seats...

This sounds like good fun.

Otherwise meet on the platform some time? (I'll be arriving from further north)

Anyone else gonna come along? I'm sure I got lots of enthusiasm last night at the beergarden, not entirely sure who it was from though...

Midday on the platform at
Sendlinger Tor sounds OK but I'm on a big one tonight too - still I suppose we have to show the Germans what drinking beer is about eh!

I'll be in a blue shirt, glasses and lederhosen!
Joachim and I will come in biking togs. Chamois insert, but doesn't count as Lederhosen...

Thanks to all those of you who came. It was nice to have your very enthuastic applause, even if it did mean we had to give yet another bloody encore after 4 hours of playing.

Fab time, a lot of good conversation and beverage and excellent oompah music.
Nice to meet you all yesterday.
