Wedding Rings / Bands - Munich Shops

Where other than the new Riem Arcaden?

Any ideas on where to get some decent (and by decent I also mean decently priced) wedding bands?

I looked in the new Riem Arcaden and found one shop but I am just wondering if there are any nicer shops in town. I have seen some expensive shops in the centre of town but I was thinking maybe there is a jewelry area in Munich.

Anyone know?

I really like the stuff in Neissing. Their rings are quite unique. They have a shop just off Marienplatz. I know you said you've seen some places in the centre, but just in case you'd missed this one. Just to clarify, I've passed it many times on the way to Kilian's pub, so nobody need start looking to buy a hat just yet.

Have a look at the http://www.123gold.de/ website. You can custom design a ring from a very wide selection of choices, the prices are supposed to be very good too.

If you want to see real samples there's a shop on Leopold Str. a couple of stops north of Munchner Freiheit.

Niessing has lovely things as does Gerhard Weickmann, Frundsbergstr. 13
80634 München (Neuhausen near Rotkreuzplatz) Tel. 201 70 02 who has his own design studio and you can watch him make stuff through the window smile.gif
I only know this because I live nearby and Niessing is near Kilians though!
Probably the biggest jewellery chain store would be Christ and they are in the Kaufingerstr.
Do a bit of research though, think about your jobs (a titanium ring can be great if your work involves machines or you do a lot of tough sport).
Spend a bit of cash though - you (hopefully) will be looking at them for the rest of your life...

Ahh Wedding RINGS! I thought you meant the four guys who play "let's twist again" while your uncle tries to grope up a bridesmaid on the dancefloor.

There is a nice shop just next to the bar Tsar Club on Muller Str. They made a (belly-button) ring in gold and platinum for me a year ago for a very reasonable rate. Also another couple of shops round the corner on Hans Sachs Str.

@speakfreak: I see how wedding bands (the rings) can be confused with wedding bands (the musicians) biggrin.gif . Never thought about it until now. Guess it is a Canadianism...we have always called them bands. Of course we also call the musicians "bands" too. Blame Canada.

Thanks for the advice (esp. Katrina who makes a very good point about the longevity factor).

wedding bands -- also in the US. Don't blame Canada. Catchy tune though, useful on other occasions... wink.gif
