Anyone know of any Russian clubs and/or associations in Germany? Plus, what German cities have a high % of Russian immigrants?

Berlin is crawling with Ruskies (obvious historical reasons). There is 'Russia House' on Friedrichstrasse (one of the main central avenues) that does cultural programs. I'm sure there are many associations in town.

@ YamYam & Duncan: would you mind asking your colleagues/wife if they/she know(s) of any Russian festivals/parties held in August?

Thanks AMI, I've already been in contact with the "Russisches Haus" in Berlin ...
What I'm really looking for are outdoor parties ... the trendier/cooler, the better!!

Well, there are several Russian clubs in Berlin, including the famous 'Russian Disko' of Wladimir Kaminer at the Kaffee Burger. I haven't been yet, but it's apparently a must do.
I live next to the big Soviet memorial, where a group of old Russian women often places wreaths for the 30,000 that are buried there, but that's not exactly a raging good time. The Byelorussian embassy is also nearby, where everyday you can see a long line of young, attractive women waiting with old, pathetic German men for visas. That also seems neither trendy nor cool.
There are normally a couple booths set by Russian breweries at the Berlin Beer Festival (Aug 5-8) that are staffed by local Russians. If anyone knows where the party is, they would.

AMI, You're hilarious!!! Love it!!

Coll on the disco ... I'll look into that!
I bet you're wondering "what's this Canadian got with Russians and their where'abouts?" Well ... I'm working on the marketing promos for a soon to be released Russian-blockbuster ... i'll keep you all posted!
Thanks again for the help eh!
Hi
Just found this message. Don't know if it is too late, or any help but there is the Russian shop near the Zoo who were recommended to me on this board a while ago:
Arina
Hölderlinstr. 22
60316 Frankfurt am Main / Ostend
Tel.: 069 / 40592612
I used to go there all the time but sadly their yummy Russian food started to make my clothes shrink. Wouldn't go as far as to say they are cool and /or trendy but they are friendly and Russian and might be able to help you out, if you need to know where all the Russians go!

Hello all!! Let me first say thank you again to all the BB'ers who added their 2-Rubles. Thanks!!
Final question, does anyone know of a trendy Russian restaurant in Frankfurt?
willy

Ok - so from what I've heard - there are absolutely "ZERO" Russian restaurants in Frankfurt!!! Hmm, perhaps I see an opportunity!!!
What about ... anyone know of a catering service specializing in Russian food?

well-well-well ... I'd recommend
www.germany.ru - a lot of info there, a small forum www.muenchen-ru.de, and
www.nashe.de - info about Russian concerts & events all around Germany and Europe.
I'm also "kind of Russian", so be free to contact me with any questions ;-) u're welcome !
