Britboard crash

Hi Editor Bill as you probably know BB crashed today, the clock however hasn't caught up yet, it's about 10 minutes behind...

Another thing, a lot more people are online now than before, shows how addicted we all are! :$

Shooo, thought I had done something wrong on my end, or that I had been excommunicated from the board!

to be more specific, it is an hour and 10 minutes, but I'm sure that is explained somewhere else here ...

yeah bloody haha, have a laugh at my expense ... but I guessed that it is probably explained somewhere and the problem is between the keyboard and the back of my chair ... :doh:
Error message ID 10 T

Looks like the DNS entry for the britboard domain name went missing for a short time.

The server was still up - I could connect to it over the admin console, and could ping the IP address.

Yes the board was down again this morning. But the server was running OK!
It seems it could have been the same problem as last time, where the DNS entry went 'missing' - DNS = Domain Name Server, so www.britboard.de cannot be translated to the IP address of the britboard server, so no connection!

The admin guys will have to sort out why it's happening.

I resorted to registering at TTM to get the message across to the 'other side'

I'm having terrible trouble in the last 10 mins getting britboard pages to load.
Only this site all others are instantaneous and I'm on broadband.
Its takes so long it keeps timing out

I've been having the same problem for about the last 40 minutes... just thought it was my slow computer!

Not a question of difficulty - just that at the time I didn't have SSH access.
Anyway, I've just set up the server so that it does a daily snychronisation with a remote time server. Should be accurate to within a few seconds now.
