after mike_a dropped me off at the church, I quickly hailed one of the many taxis passing thorough my village at that time of night and winged it back to Cologne. Having got rid of you lot, I guessed I would have more chance with the barmaid.

She had unfortunately finished for the night, but in her place were the Swedish national netball team. To cut a long story short.. I wonder why they only have 9 in a team?

Either that, or I went home, kicked the dustbin and woke the neighbours, tried for 25 minutes to get the key into the doorbell, fell over the doorstep, woke the kids, forgot my chocolate and tablet, fell asleep on the toilet, walked into the closed bedroom door, hit my head on the head rest, and eventually woke up 17 hours and 15 minutes later drenched in "regurgitated" guinness, fish & chips.

Veela won the BBsweepstakes (tip of 2-1), closely followed by Bombi-Hubbi (who tipped 1-1). BBulldog and myself were the over-optimistic losers, but it was close ... England only needed another 4 and I would have been in there !!!

So a magnificent haul of €5 for Veela, so beers are on her at the next Treff, which is very generous I think.

Why was I the only person who said Wales would win 2-1?
