Calling Families with Babies/Toddlers in Bonn area

We live in Oberwinter just south of Bonn. We have a seven month old baby and I'm really keen to find other English speaking families with similar age children to get together and have regular meetings. Although we have been here a few years, we have really only met people from our work which is some way south of Bonn. I'd really like to find other families nearby who are in a similar situation and would like to have some sort of meetings where we could arrange activities for the kids or even just get together for a coffee and a chat.

Im not in Bonn, but only about 45 mins away. Have also been here a few years and still not managed to met other english women with babies. My little one is now 2. Im in Nettetal, probably too far to pop for a coffee.

If you are able to drive to Heiderhof, there is an English toddler group (all ages up to 3) that meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the International school. They are not meeting through the holidays but should be back when the school term starts on 30.8 I think there is one mother and toddler from Oberwinter in the group.

thanks for the replies, both. My geography is not too good, Tan, where is Nettetal in relation to Bonn? It might not be too far.
Rebecca, thanks for the info about the toddler group - is it really all ages - I thought the group was only 2 to 3 year olds at the school? Also same question, I'm afraid, where is Heiderhof? Is it in Bonn? Sorry to sound so daft but we have always travelled south of Oberwinter and haven't really explored further north.

Sorry took so long to reply have had busy few days.
Nettetal is near Monchengladbach, Viersen, Venlo and about 25 mins from Düsseldorf.

It would probably take me about 45 mins to 1hr to drive to Bonn, I think you are not quite as far as that ? Sorry my geog is not so hot either.

Hiederhof is up the hill from Bad Godesberg and the toddler group is open to anyone, I used to go with my son and there were all ages up to 3. Some of the mothers have older children at the school and some have no connection to the school whatsoever.

Could you give us some more details please? Where does the group meet exactly, is there someone I could contact? I did approach one of the schools already regarding their toddler group (BIS, I think, not the independent one) and they definitely don't take th m under two.

The group I am thinking of is a mother and toddler group at IBIS in Tulpenbaumweg, Heiderhof. They meet at 9.30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in a building in the school grounds. If you phone the school they should be able to give you the name and no. of whoever is organising the group at the moment.

Hi, My son is 20 months old. We come from South Africa and we would love to get to know other mom's in this area. So put the kettle on. It is so important to have a support network away from home. I FEEL SO ISOLATED IN THIS COUNTRY!!! Am I alone in this?

In which area do you live Anita? Are you also in the Bonn/Cologne area?

I live in Bad Godesberg, Bonn. There is so much going on in Köln but not really in Bonn.

The toddler group in Heiderhof isn't meeting at the school at the moment due to building work. I have heard they are meeting at a local park/playground. I'm sure the school can put you in contact with the organisers.
