TT Munich Tram Party

Any interest in organising one?

Just wondered if anybody is interested in having a TT Tram Party? You've probably seen a tram packed full of people, blaring loud music at 1AM at least once or twice. Basically you get on a Party tram (with DJ and bar included) and travel around Munich the whole night. I'm just trying to gauge interest...I'm not sure how to set it up, but it shouldn't be that difficult.
Presh
I wanna do it before May 29th!!!
bubblylady
I would join as well, but Presh seems to turn out like a second Fusilli with all that partying! biggrin.gif

Seen one, looks fun.
Just a sensible question;
Beer+male bladder+being on a bus with presumably no urinal. How does that work out? Do they just stop every 20 metres?
randy
The Long Night of Music also runs a couple of disco trams, which y'all might be interested in hooking up with.
canuck
Every 45mins there would be a 10min break...this is what was done in the past. I believe cost would be around 10EUR per person...something like that.
profundo
Is it anything like the Roller Disco Truck scene from Jackass the Movie? tongue.gif

[They all had roller skates on in the disco truck as the driver slammed around corners and sent them all flying through the tinsel and spilling their drinks]

Regarding the costs: You need to find 50 people paying appr. 27,- Euros each to finance it. The Tram takes you for a ride of 4 hours, including drinks and cleaning.
canuck
Are you sure about the 27EUR and 50 people? I know of a group that charged 10-13EUR for a ticket and it was from 8:30pm to 1am. I know there was more than 50 people on the tram...Also, the group probably had some help with financing then eh, to reduce the price per person...

Hmmmm...Jimbo can help us out here...right? rolleyes.gif

Ok this sounds so cool! What about this Sat night 15th or friday the 28th of may?
canuck
Presh, I'm thinking this might take a month to set up ... at least. I assume you have to book the tram at least a month in advance.

OK. So there is some interest. I'll look into it further, and most important...look into the costs.

They offer several programs. For 9,- Euros you get a 50 minutes ride with no music, no food and no drink but a lot of strangers and the chance to miss the Tram because no tickets can be booked in advance. According to http://www.mvgmuenchen.de/muenchentram.htm

It can be bookes as a partyTram if you find more than 10 people. But 4 hours will cost about 1250 Teuros. If you bring the drinks yourself and clean the Tram afterwards they'll charge something about 1000 Teuros.

There's nothing stopping a massive TT rush onto a random tram.. with a jukebox and several cases of alcohol.. tongue.gif I'm pretty sure it can be done in under 27€pp too!

Cool. I'd do it.

There's a group of unwashed smelly anarchists I know of vaguely who do this on the Circle Line Underground in London. Basicly people turn up with bottles for a pre-arranged time at certain stations and know to get carriage X.

The idea is also to brighten up the lives of regular commuters by giving away drinks, food, singing, playing music etc. Though whether you'd want to give a free beer to a Munich granny who sprints down the platform, hacks her way through the crowd with her stick and then tearfully demans the disabled place is another matter...

I think it could be laugh to do in Munich.
17 seems a good route, there's loos at Amelienburgstrasse I know and we can all go to the Chinese Tower easily by getting off at Tivolistrasse! biggrin.gif

Though I HIGHLY suspect the Polizei and MVG thugs in blue will be called sharpish like. Might get less hassle in the U-Bahn...

I'm in! If the price is right and the toilet breaks are regular. huh.gif
becs
Went on one last year. Was a great laugh and definitely cost us no more than €15 each. There were 2 trams joined together playing different music, either techno or cheesy.
Toilet breaks are interesting though ! blink.gif

i've never been on one of these but would defenitely join in for one ... how about an xmas theme party tram given that that's just days away

Was on the Munich International Ski Club Double-decker City-Tour Bus party last night, and must say I prefer the double-decker bus variation instead of the tram. I believe the prices are similar. It's much more flexible, for one (can stop whenever requested for toilet breaks) and the huge group that waved and hailed us at the Opera house was priceless. biggrin.gif
DDBug
The ski club has done trams and busses - and I've been on both. Kat's right about having more flexible drink and potty stops, but I still like the tram atmosphere better for some reason. Either one is fun though!!!

Alrighty I'll bite. Any upcoming tram parties? cool.gif
