Life in Heidelberg or Mainz
What it's like to live in either of these cities
Just curious how the quality of life, nightlife, friendliness of locals, etc compare in these cities to unruly sketchy Berlin?
Heidelberg is quite friendly, lots of bars & 3 Irish pubs & i'm sure the nightlife/disco's are pretty good too as it's University town there are lots of young people of various nationalities.
We love Heidelberg.
You can walk the streets at night without harrasment. You can even walk home drunk and no one will bother you.(I should know)
The good lady can go into one of our two locals by her self and not feel uncomfortable being alone.
It is clean and there is lots of places to go around the area so you can not get bored especially in the summer.

Yeah. Good place, good people those Heidelbergers.
But the rugby is better of course.

Mainz is absolutely fantastic, I have lived here for 5 years and loved the place. We have lots of native English-speakers here and if you're in the area post a message and we can show you the Irish Pubs etc.

I would go for Mainz it is larger than Heidelberg and has more going on. Both are great places.
