Reasons to live in Munich (yet more of them!)

I still have my bike

This morning, I suddenly found myself very late for a new class I would be teaching. No time to catch the tram down to Karlsplatz, I grabbed my bike and pedaled furiously. About halfway there, I realised I didn't have the lock for my bike.

Dilemma: Do I go back for the lock, knowing I will miss the S-bahn, be 20 minutes late and make a terrible impression on my new clients? Or do I leave my bike unattended in the center of town without a lock for at least 3 hours?

I chose the second option, leaving it with a pile of other bikes at one of the entrances to Karlsplatz and ran down to catch my S-bahn. Made it to class on time and when I came back, my bike was still there!

Yay Toytown! biggrin.gif

I left several Snap-On spanners in the gutter, after repairing my car. Somebody put them in my postbox. Bless Em!

I left a 50 euro bill in the trousers I took to the dry cleaners the other day. Still there when I picked them up.
Memo
Early morning... Gotta go to work. Ready to leave the flat. Where are the bloody keys??? Under the sofa pillows? In the pockets of the trousers I wore yesterday? In my backpack?

Then it hits me... The keys are on the door. OUTSIDE!

Gotta love this town

Lost my wallet. Someone found it, called me up and gave it back to me with all the money inside. "untouched"

Just like home... tongue.gif

I have a grumble... walked home the other day ... big grimace onmy face and practically pushing a bike up hill as it had a flat tyre, carrying all these bags... all these germans staring at me no-one offers to help... back home it would have been very rude to not offer your assistance... and it was raining!!

If I were the devil, (and I'm not) I would say:

Ya gotta be able to think like a terrorist! I would get a mo-ped scooter and ride around town stealing the briefcases and purses out of the back of slow moving bicycles' baskets!

I would open up the lights on the street corner that have the easy open wingnut feature and cross the wires! he he. And loosen the bolts on parked bikes! haha

I would walk up to a meter maid as she was giving a ticket and start fumbling with my keys and grab the ticket and rip it up and curse and spit and slam my fists on the roof of 'my' porsche and stomp off in anger.

That's the problem with these nice Toytowner locals. They never think outside the box. They are just asking for trouble. ph34r.gif

I have one story for each, stumbled in my apartment one night drunk, thought I'd shut the down, woke up some 10 hours late, midday, and nothing.

Take some spanners into the office to fix something, go to lunch come back and they are go !
