Just wondered if we have any closet bikers out there in Toytown?

I have a 950 roadbike but also got a KTM 525SX Motocrosser if anyone wants to come to the track for a day and scare themselves silly. I suspect some of our friends from across the pond may be dirtbikers?

I would love to come to the track for a day and scare myself silly.

Just been out this afternoon on my dad's Yamaha Virago XV 750. Mmmmm. biggrin.gif

Rubbish weather for biking! It was raining so much I drove the car to school this morning.

So is your Dad here in Munich? Are you in Ireland? Is your Dad's bike here alone? Am I being thick?

Motocrossing - track I currently go to is open Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays from 2pm until 6.30pm. They do open on Saturday and Sundays but not sure if we can get it in on a guest pass - plus not a good idea 'cos there will be too many riders for messing about. So you need an afternoon off work really.

Are there any near you? e.g. Munich Airport.

When in the UK I used to spend every Sunday Trials riding
Just like you see on Eurosport, But the outdoor type and not the Indoor Trials.

I have searched the net and found 2 or 3 clubs but they seem to have only one meeting a year!!!

I havent seen any Motorcycle shops that sell trials bikes, either.
This is strange as Germany has had one or 2 world champions..

Anyone out there help.?

For trial biking you wanna search google for "Motorradtrial" in google.de

This is probably the link you need:
trial-alpenpokal.de for Bavaria, with links for example to
trialclubmuenchen.de

Might be some more links off here:

msc-werl.de

trial-mc-augsburg.de (over near me)

Or are these the ones that only meet once a year?

I am also interested in belting around Romania with these guys sometime:

motorom.de

Not right now however as I had another little crash Mxing yesterday and my knee is slightly "f**cked" today - been to the quack and got all the pills and strapping etc but I stuffed the ligament pretty bad this time sad.gif

Hi guys,

A fun day motocross competition is being organised. The proceeds of the event all go charity., we are just looking for teams interested in performing in this event.

It's a day out for all of the family and food is also included.

If any nutty motocross teams out their fancy joining then pls let me know.

Cheers

Hi

Jonny english is into MX, but at the mo, he is somewhere in the eastern block on his Bike (and I dont mean Trudering, either)

There seems to be little like that happening round here, as I asked about Trials riding and got forwarded to many MX sites.. rolleyes.gif

Thanks BOB and Grinner for your replies.

A couple of teams are looking to duel for a good cause, and we are looking for other teams who will be interested to make the competition a little bit meatier.

The event is to be held in Memmingham which has a very good track, and no dates have been confirmed as of yet untill we have our teams.

Its a fun day and food will also be provided and its for all members of the family!! Not just the big boys.

If anyone is interested let me know.

Hi. I just got back from my road trip to:

Austria - off-road crash and puncture
Slovenia - wheelies at the border, can anyone say "Ljubljana"?
Croatia - My mate loses a bundle of cash
Bosnia - Cannot find way back to our room at 4am in Sarajevo
Hungary - Border closed, then my bike blows up
Slovakia - Bratislava rocks all night, sleep on a boat

Enuff said,
Jonathan.

My work is transfering me to Munich for one or two years.

In the US I race motocross with my friends for fun. I live to ride. I would like to connect with any motocross or on-road motorcycle enthusiasts in Munich. I'm wanting to develop some riding buddies near Munich.

Im seeking a studio/apartment with a small storage area in order to store a dirtbike or streetbike.

In trying to determine where to live, I would like to know where the best motocross tracks or places to ride are. I am not able to find any Munich motocross track info on the web.

I do not yet have a motorcycle license. Is it reasonable $ for a non-German speaking person to get a motorcycle license in Germany, or do I need to get this in the US?

Thanks in advance for any moto feedback. biggrin.gif

Welcome next month Ben! Just happens that I am in the West of Munich but still hope we can meet up (I have PM'd you lots more info).

For others reading this thread the best links are here for tracks:

http://www.hammertime.de/

Munich Airport has a good track: http://www.msc-freisingerbaer.de/

I ride myself at these two:

http://www.amc-gablingen.de/ (North of Augsburg)
http://www.putzmuehle.com/

To ride pure Motocross here you dont need a licence. To ride on the road you need a bike licence (pretty expensive and a pain in the arse to do in Germany).

So just get an MX bike and a trailer!

@Grinner and others.

I was at http://www.msc-freisingerbaer.de/ all last weekend. (nasty website!)

They have a large MX track but also a pretty big trials section with artificial and natural obstacles. I certainly fancy having a go, but not keen on buying a trials bike just for that!

The track is right at the airport...like literally. The fence borders the runway.
