Schools out!

My daughter has a day off school tomorrow, because it is closed due to staff shortages!

There are only four classes and three teachers are off sick. The poor school director was tearing his hair out today - trying to cope! At least it's only a small grundschule, so there are no teenagers to really give him problems.

But tonight, he threw in the towel, at least for tomorrow. No 'supply' teachers available, because all the other schools have the same problem. I suppose we are last on the list, there are only 80 kids at the most in the whole school. But I'm surprised that the local council cannot make better arrangements. My daughter's usual teacher should be back on Wednesday, with a bit of luck.

So my daughter gets at least one day off, she's happy. But she will get bored if it's any longer than a day.

She was off school on Thursday and Friday because she had a cold - oops, maybe she started it all

I guess supply teachers are the only people happy right now! I just hope I don't fall under the weather myself...

If you took away teachers sick pay benefits, I bet there wouldn't be a problem.
Skiving gits!

My daughters kindergarten was closed four times in two months because the place was infested with dog fleas and it had to be fumigated. Whoever had the pet was not treating the problem so they kept on reinfesting the place. It was also closed once when six kids got a salmonella infection. Great kindergarten though!!!
