Hi all,
We are moving back to Germany in March and are currently looking at where to live...Would be Frankfurt area and we were originally thinking Bad Homburg but now are considering other places that would be better for hubbies commute!!
Anyway we are now looking at Uberursel. WOuld be grateful for any opinions on the area as I don't know it at all...Is it a town OR just a suburb...
Thanks in advance

Can't remember who, but one of the boards members lives or at least used to live there, I'm sure you will get a decent informative reply.

Hi leepee.

So you're moving to Oberursel? Oh well, it could be worse.

Only kidding.

I lived there for 3 years before moving down to Stuttgart last summer. I was living in a fairly modern flat in the Schellbachstraße / Usastraße complex near the Rolls Royce factory. It's actually a small town unto itself but its amenities are pretty basic, so you'd be glad of the U3 into Frankfurt. It's also extremely handy being really close to the A660, so you can quickly get further afield. I suppose it depends what you're looking for but it's a decent area, very handy for the Hochtaunus for walking, mountain-biking, etc. There's a great Brunnenfest in the summer and the Rund um den Henninger Turm cycle race used to have a stage that swept down from the Feldberg, right through the town centre and on up to Königstein, but a political cock-up has put paid to that for the time being. Take a look at the Oberursel website for more information.

Hope that gives you a basic idea of the place. If you need any specific info., feel free to PM me.

Hi again...
Firstly thanks soooo much for the website reggie. Have spent ages looking at it and it is really helpful. Looks like a pretty nice place so it may be a winner. Secondly what kind of flat is up for rent NL???! We are looking for a garden flat 'cos we have a 19 month little boy with WAY too much energy - I want to start him doing laps!! Feel free to pm me if you think your friend's flat will fit the bill...Also looking for three bedrooms
Cheers again for the replies
