Women run around with scissors cutting off men's ties.

This is all a build up to Rosenmontag, when there is a big Fastnacht carnival through town.

I only wish I lived in Freiburg. Smaller than Hamburg, close to mountains, France, Switzerland, great climate.

Hi, my husband and I have been living in Menzenschwand near St Blasien for the last two years and we would love to meet up with other English speakers (we're getting pretty desperate for a conversation in English)! Menzenschwand is a ski and spa resort about 45 mins from Freiburg. Our website is www.thegrunenberg.com.
