Hi,

I'm a member of Mc Fit in Hagen and they are cheap and ok, not full of people who just go there to show off. It's also open 24 hours a day. It only has the machines but no sauna or courses. The staff however are friendly and helpful.

McFit Studio Düsseldorf
Völklinger Straße 24, 40221 Düsseldorf, Telefon: 02 11 - 31 06 959

This is the address of the one in Düsseldorf and I know someone who goes there regularly and likes it there.

A friend of mine is a member at Holmes Place in Duss.and very pleased with it.

Probably not the cheapest option though but apparently cheaper than joining HP in the UK

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive fitness studio in Düsseldorf? Are there any that do not require a contract? Also are there any good saunas and swim halls within the city of Düsseldorf that are accessible by public transport? Many Thanks. Also are there any good health food stores in Düsseldorf(like GNC and Vitamin World in Australia and the US) where I can purchase supplements like Green Tea, Glucosamine, and Yayema Chlorella?

Fitness: depends where you are, most of them are around 35€/month but you ened to sign up for a while (standard game)
in Oberbilk there is http://www.centiness-duesseldorf.de which has nice facilities and is next to the Volksgarten (great for walks and jogs, and beers)

Pools: there is the
in Derendorf/Pemplefort (north D-dorf) there is Münster Therme http://www.nordstrasse-duesseldorf.de/schwimmbad.htm,
in Flingern there is Düsselstrand http://www.baeder-duesseldorf.de/duesselstrand.htm

But with this summer heat, better to head out to the lake nearby http://www.unterbachersee.com

for Green tea, there are a bunch of japanese supermarkets on and around immermanstrasse (near the Hbf)
there are health-food stores on Nordstrasse, Friederichstr., near Carlplatz, in the basement of Carshhaus, all over in fact.

Hello,

We just moved to Duesseldorf and are looking for a good gym to join. What we are looking for is for a place that offers a wide selection of classes like aerobic, pilates, cycling, step... if it follows the Les Mills exercise programs even better. The other important thing is for the place to offer a child care service.

We visited a couple of gyms, XXL in Ungelsheim (Duisburg) and Fitness First downtown by the Schadow Arkaden. The seemed nice, but we would like to hear from some of you if you know of other places that are better or if you would recommend the ones I mention.

Many thanks!
Daniel

Hi! I go to Holmes place and am quite happy with it - really nice place, has lots of courses to offer, sauna, pool... It is quite expensive, but I get a company discount. Maybe you do, too?!
