Why do some topics disappear?

Why is it, that when I see something really funny on the Britboard, and I go back to read it another time, I find that it has disappeared? Does this mean that if a person has seen something once, they cant view it again. Recent examples are; Lekys "Christmas cake recipe" (Brilliant) and Slackmacks "10 good reasons for being British" (of which It disappeared once before, and he kindly sent it back in). One more time Slackmack and Leky please!! Am I doing something wrong, or does this stuff just get wiped of the board for some particular reason?

Only 2 pages of threads are kept in the Misc. and Random Chat forum. When threads scroll off onto the 3rd page they are removed. Otherwise the forum would be 100s of pages long.

Note that they are not deleted: just removed to a hidden forum.

It's hidden, and it can only be accessed by me.

The reason is to try to increase the ratio of useful stuff (life in germany, etc) to non-useful stuff (misc & random chat) that's available on the forum.

Does this mean that if we need to /would like to access something we know was posted previously that we can ask you to repost it - always assuming it wasn't removed because it was defamatory of course - or are such posts deleted?

I shouldn't worry about the posts being deleted, there is never that much activity over the weekend to prompt the "2page rule".

Well I live with a scouser since over 3 years by now. For sure that wouldn't work out without a weird humor. Erm ops I mean without a special kind of humor

Don't know about that.

While it seems to be alittle quieter at the moment it used to regularly take me more than two hours to catch up with the weekend traffic when I returned to Unterlüss on Sunday evening - admittedly that was from Midday Friday.

Assuming that (even though they don't) the topics fell off page 2 into oblivion, that would still mean that there had to be 41 new topics started over the weekend for anything posted prior to Friday afternoon to be deleted. Although catching up on a sunday night may take a while Roy, there is unlikely to be that many new topics, even that mega thread that hit 900+ replies was still only one topic.

have to hold back for now or I'll sound really pissed after many things I've read lately
