Socialising in Düsseldorf

I am new to Düsseldorf/Duisburg and just wanted to know the following:

a. Do people meet up regularöy for beer/ food etc?
b. If not would people be interested in doing so ?

Hi Ben, and welcome..

although I am mostly in Cologne, I do meet some friends in Düsseldorf (prefer the beer there ) every now and then -- they are all german, so it might be a struggle if you don't speak much German (in some places it's hard enough when you are fluent).

I could still find time in my calender for an entirely english speaking table in Düsseldorf as well, so count me in... I live roughly equidistant from Cologne and Düsseldorf, Duisburg is a bit out of the way, though.

Hi Ben - sounds good - always looking for a good meeting and some good beer. I agree with Mike, the beer in Düsseldorf is better.

Hi Mike, Ben and Erik,

I'm about an hour outside Düsseldorf, but I do like a wander round the Altstadt
now and again, ...and yes you're right the beer is better as I'm a big Altbier
fan ...I can highly recommend the Schumacher brewery ...an excellent brew.
If you're having a meet-up sometime I could get the train in to Düsseldorf depending
on my calendar, although the run up to Xmas is pretty busy socially I might be able to make it.

Get the calenders and street maps out then

I have a couple of loose agreements for next week, but if you guys agree something, and I have nothing else on that evening, then it's not a problem for me to stop over in D for an altbier on the way home.

..I could possibly make it on Thursday depending on times (wed. is out for me)
