Hi,

does any one know where's the best place to see Her Majesty the Queen when she comes to Düsseldorf on 4th November?

Ooooh! Is Betsy coming to Düsseldorf? What for? huh.gif

It's OK - I've worked it out - If you're looking for a vantage point you might find THIS usefull.
It's a programme of events on the day.

Given that she's in NRW and it's her first State Visit since 1965 it's a bit of a shame she's not dropping in on BFG. I'm sure it would cheer up quite a few of the families with loved ones in theatre at the moment.
kev
TBOTR, that is probably the reason why she is not visiting BFG, someone might ask her why we are still in Iraq.

Sadly there's not a lot she can do about it - Now if Geoff Hoon was accompanying her and not Jack Straw I'm pretty sure he'd be up for a lynching as he drove through the gates at JHQ...In fact I doubt he's get past the guardroom - "Sorry Guv' we 'fought you was a terrorist Sir" laugh.gif

The best vantage point, as far as I'm concerned, is in Hamburg.

Quite agree Adi. Wouldn't go the length of my self to see her or any of the UKs' most dysfunctional family.
Braces self for flak!

I don't know - People have been complaining for years that the Royals don't understand real life because they don't live like the rest of us...

...Then a couple of extra marital affairs and the odd smattering of divorce and everyone calls them disfunctional laugh.gif

If you don't like the monarchy you're certainly better off in a Federal Republic like Germany that's for sure.

Leave Liz alone - She and her family are just coming home to their roots for a few days that's all! wink.gif

I'm with you on that one too Sandra & Adi...

If Phil the Greek comes with her he'll have no problem finding a kebab shop :excl: ...but knowing him he'll stay at home and practice insulting ethnic minorities laugh.gif

Erm...Hate to say it Neil but after that comment the words pot, kettle and black have just sprung into my mind! laugh.gif

Anyone got anything positive at all (or at least neutral) to say about the Monarchy or is it just easier to be cynical and spiteful? huh.gif
Neil
...they do a great job ...how about that  ...nahhh cynical is better laugh.gif

sorry about that TBOTR ...I maybe just a tad slow tonight but I don't get it mate ? unsure.gif ...pot, black kettle ??? huh.gif ...or am I being thick ???
bbulldog
you lot are terrible.
I am glad for them because in 1977 I bought a Jubilee first day cover stamped on the 7 July 1977 at BFPO 7777 Sennelager, so one day it will be worth a few bob.
So if it wasnt for them it would be worth nothing biggrin.gif

anyway who is she queen of... wacko.gif
Neil
..it's alright for some Bully !

how come my Silver Jubilee mug I bought when I was 14 is now worth
less than it was in 1977 ...infact it's worth sod all sad.gif

It is funny but stamps do go up in value. will sell mine one day...

She must be a queen...why... she's not full of shit.
Neil
Where are they then huh.gif ?

As the Royal Family is a good natured, caring bunch of people laugh.gif , I am sure that by now they have been attracted to the Britboard and are even active contributers. Naturally, they will not be using their own names so we can only know who they are by the quality of the advice and the occasional quirky nature of their responses. Of the regular contributors, who do you think fits the description?

I recon TBOTR is Phil the Greek ...I notice he's very protective of them wink.gif
bbulldog
where are who?

how about this then ...Propaganda Stamps printed by the brits in the second world war

[attachment=419:attachment]

not at all illegal as you can get them on ebay biggrin.gif

Just thought it was genuinely quite funny that you were talking about Prince Philip insulting other races by stereotyping Greeks! laugh.gif

If you hadn't got there first I probably would have said something similar!
Neil
...Perhaps they'll do some for Gerhard Schroeder laugh.gif

...well TBOTR you can't beat stereo-types for cheap laughs ...och aye the noo tongue.gif

As for the other comments about the Royals, It's just getting a little boring to see them persecuted like this - We all know they're an easy target because they are different (I didn't say better) to the rest of us.

It's just a personal thing - No matter who a person is or what they have done I just don't like seeing people pulled to pieces like this.
It's something us Brits are becoming renowned for doing accross the world and a trate I reckon we've picked up from the gutter press we so avidly buy and read. sad.gif
