How come even when I log out and shut down my internet connection, when I log in again the "new posts" include all those that were there several hours ago.
With the old S/W, I didn't need to log out for long (exactly how long I don't remember) and then only got geuinely new postings.
It's a bit of a pain, to say the least!

New posts are posts that you haven't actually read, or marked as read with the "mark this forum as read" or "mark all posts as read" options.
Apart from occasions after the weekend, where there are so many posts that it wasn't possible, I usually read all posts. With the old S/W, that was enough, although I did notice there, that if I didn't log out, but just moved to another forum or web-site the S/W didn't seem to notice that I'd been gone (so to speak!).
However, if I shut down my internet connection and IE, then logged on again a short time later, I would only be presented with posts that were genuinely new. For some reason this doesn't happen now.
It's not a serious problem, as you say, I just need to mark the posts with the "read" button - just curious that I didn't need to before.
