Has anyone seen it yet ? We were thinking about going to see it this weekend and wondered if anyone had already been and what they thought ! I read in one review that whilst the acting is apparently very good the script is somewhat weak.

Hi,
my son went to watch it last week and said he almost cried at some parts of it (take note, he is in his teens !!) and said it was a good insight of how he (Hiltler) was portraid as trying to be a "normal "person. I don't think you should expect too much "story" but more of a documentry.

Happy watching.

I'm going to see it tonight. The reviews are good, but I dont expect it to be a barrel of laughs...

Hi Adriang !
I have also now been to see it and whilst I thought it was good (and extremely well acted!) you certainly could not describe it a barrel of laughs ! For you German speakers out there (as I don`t think there is a dubbed or subtitled version out yet) I would definately recommend it.

dubbed or subtitled version

IMHO subtitles are much better then dubbing. Dubbed films give me a headache, especially when I can lip-read the English wacko.gif

It is a very good film and probably shows very well how everything went completely out of control at the end. I thought is was also well acted and the guy playing Hitler struck the right balance between raving loon and someone who could be quite pleasant and charming at times.

Many people are happy to label Hitler and a monster and leave it at that. The truth is more complicated than that, by calling him a monster we are attempting to separate him from the human race. What he did was monsterous, but he was human, one of us...

There are Hitlers in every country and every society, luckily they don't become dictators very often.

I don't know about a dubbed version, but there is a subtitled one, which has been showing at the UCI Oberkassel (Düsseldorf) for the past couple of weeks. I haven't seen it myself yet, though.

There is also a subtitled version on right now at the Turm Palast in Frankfurt.
