I know it's a while off yet, but these things have to be planned...

I'm in Cologne for a week at the end of October at a trade fair and the Chelsea v CSKA Moscow game is on the telly on the 20th - ITV and Premiere. Does anybody know where I can watch it in the City centre?

Thanks.

There are quite a few Irish pubs in Cologne that show British football matches. Try one of these:

The Harp Irish Pub
Venloer Str.
0221 510 7199

Jameson Distillery Irish Pub
Friesen Str., Cologne
02219123323

Barney Vallely's Irish Pub
Kleine Budengasse 7-9, Cologne
0221-2570820

Connolly's Irish Pub
Kleine Budengasse 7-9, Cologne
0221-2570820

Good luck!

Going off at a slight tangent here, but was anybody else here watching the game last night in O'Reilly's in Stuttgart? If so, who were the guys sitting in the corner? I gathered they were some kind of band but didn't want to risk the embarrassment (to either them or myself!) of having to ask them. ph34r.gif One thing's for certain, it wasn't Mötorhead! happy.gif

Thanks a lot, Pumkin Pie!

I've put them all in my diary for the night. Excellent!

Matsan, Barney Vallely's and Connoly's are by far the best of the Irish pubs in Cologne. They are in fact right next door to each other and are owned by the same guy. He has just put big screens into both of them.

If you decide to go to one of these give me a shout and I'll meet you for a beer or two.

Thanks, Mandrax. I will steer towards those two then. I may well have been in them before - it's been 2 years since our last trade fair in Cologne and, frankly, I was quite relaxed every night.

I will definately let you know, if I'm going; chances are I will be.

Um, you're not a Chelsea fan, are you...? huh.gif

No mate, I follow the mighty Luton Town!

As if living in Luton wasn't punishment enough!

I worked for George Kent from 1969 - 1980, that was long enough to spend in Luton!

Ah, I see. Yes, my brother's looking forward to seeing them at Plainmoor in March... wink.gif

Are you trying to say that following the Hatters is punishment? Well maybe if it is the Stockport County version, certainly not when supporting the real "Rip Roaring Hatters"! Not much can compare with the excitement of the roller coaster ride of supporting Luton, not even the thrill of trying to get home from the town centre without being mugged, knifed, shot or raped on a Friday!

Well by my reckoning we should be 30 points clear by that stage and so I'm sure we will be able to treat your bruv to a scintillating display of exhibition football.
