I am looking for Brits in the area of Düsseldorf to socialize. Love eating out (Indian food!) with friends, meet interesting people, reading good books.
41 years of age, no kids-working full time, female.

Hi Countessa,
Bully and I are not far from Düsseldorf (Hagen/Dormund)
we are also Indian food worshipers, I've only been to one

I have lived near Düsseldorf for about a year, and recently joined the British Women's Club of Düsseldorf. They have various social events, including a cinema evening (films in English), "Prost" evenings and a book club. So far, I have only been to a breakfast and the film night, but everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
www.bwcdusseldorf.orgMe and my husband have tried a couple of curries, (he is an addict) very disappointing, as they seemed to have forgotten the spices!

what i told him at the irish festival was:
don`t do to others, what you don`t want them doing to you
oder:
was du nicht willst, das man dir tu, das füg auch keinem andern zu
ich bin nicht bully, sondern seine frau
liebe grüsse und hallo an alle!

No, husband is a Brit, he wanted a curry to celebrate Norwich City being promoted to some Premier League thing.
Having a curry on a friday night reminds him of his younger days involving copious amounts of beer, trying to pull, then ending up in "the Back Passage". It's actually called the Passage to India, so he says, but it could be when he was deciding whether he was Martha or Arthur.
If he reads this, I'm in so much trouble!

Hello Elsie,
I do fully agree- spices are the problem here everywhere- I started to cook Indian myself years ago out of pure desperation...
Had a look at the women`s club homepage- worth a try maybe... We'll see...
Anybody ever been to the Overseas Club in Cologne? Sounds interesting as well, but a much longer way down the road...
I will keep in touch!

Brings back many happy memories of the Viceroy of India in Biggleswade - not just on Fridays either!

My favourite Indian of all times is/will ever be the "Kyber" in Liverpool, near Mount Pleasant. Does anybody know whether it is still there?
Just saw an ad there are cheap flights to Liverpool from Köln/Bonn now.
I want to get there!!!
