Trip to the town of Hameln - Germany

Ok , a couple of questions... I have spoken to the boot people and if we want to take an hours ride on the Weser they would roughly like to know how many are coming, so
A: Show of hands please (kids incl)

The prices are: Adult €6,00, kids under 6 €0, 6-11 €3. the leaving times which maybe of interest for us are: 11.15 - 12.30 - 13.45.

B: What would be the most favoured time ? Taking into consideration that we are hoping to meet at the Rathaus at 10.30 (about 10-15 mins walk away).

If we can get a full list available lets say by next Wednesday (16th) and get something planned, the earlier the better, if anyone has any other ideas, plans etc please speak up...

I wish I could show my hand but its just not possible at the moment. Next time (if you all recover from this time ) I will be able to come. All have a fantastic time though and have a large drink for me!

as for time i would say not before 12:30 might be some straglers cought up in traffic...

I should be there with my two girls and maybe husband if he's back from a business trip to Italy ..grr..alright for some! The 13.45 boat trip would probably be the best for us if possible as I doubt we'd make it to Hameln by 10.30! Carolyn has my mobile No. and I'll PM Slackmack for his too so we're sorted!

It was a nice day out, I think enjoyed by all.
We had a great time. The misses was surprised at how nice everyone was. The boat trip was good apart from the hail getting into my beer... will put up a few pics later...

Yes I agree, a fine day was had by all. My girls certainly enjoyed it. It was fine to meet you all and I'm still recovering after meeting the Topless Trucker in the flesh...oooeer!! and may I add his lovely wife!

Perhaps next time we could make it a night out in Hannover or somewhere minus small children!! (only well behaved breast feeding ones Mirielle! ) How about a curry night?

I'd probably - ? make that definitely - manage to get myself down to Hannover for a curry, but unfortuntely only if it was Monday to Thursday.

By the way, while we're on the subject (or rather, off the subject) of hot foods, I've just discovered an American style Chili con Carne, which is the best I've had since my much beloved "Old El Paso" disappeared from the supermarket shelves a few years back. It's called "Stagg Chili" and is available in 4 varieties, of which the "Fiery Hot" variety would put a Vindaloo to shame. I could hardly see the plates for tears! I must be getting out of practice with the watered down versions of just about everything that gets dished up in Germany!

A curry in Hannover or a Steak in Paderborn (which reminds me..YAMYAM if you are listening...you owe me one !! ) whatever, i enjoyed it and maybe next time the "Hamburg " division could get there ! Was good to talk to friendly and easy going people. Lets just not make it a one off thing, maybe after the summer hols again ??

Sandra isn't as mad as she looks in her profile , she's rather sweet actually . Carolyn hated me throwing her cigerettes overboard . Bully, and I didn't get caught on film with a beer permently stuck in our paws . Mirielle and Kev had to leave early, shame . Craig was doing his utmost to be David Bailey . A fun day had by all.

I know a great steak house in the Paderborn area , but a curry in hannover is probably more central.

what ever is on the cards I'm ... oooops WE are up for it.

Hi! After 6 long weeks without internet I am back. Thanks to T-online rubbishness I was offline after Hammeln so i could not comment then but I'd like to say a big thank to Craig for organizing it as it was really nice meeting everyone else and we certainly had a lovely day. Hammeln was a good choice, well worth seeing. I have some pictures too but I don't know how to download them ( I am not the technical type in case you have not noticed!) so I'll have to pester Kevin until he has a minute to do it.
