I fly my family from manchester regular and found that the best deal for me in terms of traveling time and costs was happag lloyd express from Manchester to Cologne. I live between Paderborn and Gütersloh.

Here is a link to a few airlines:

sorry Kath...I fly regularly from Hamburg to Manchester and the only direct flight is with Lufthansa. Not exactly cheap... sad.gif
cheapo flights can be had with other sirlines with one stop, but it's a hassle. or sometimes lufthansa has cheap deals, but you have to be lucky to find one... rolleyes.gif

try british midland (but not bmibaby) , although I'm buggered if I can think of the web address at the moment...

The British Midland website is www.flybmi.co.uk

I have flown with Vbird recently and so far so good. Niederrhein (near Düsseldorf) to Manchester 29,99€ each way. Last week they had a special offer and all flights from were 19,99€ each way to everywhere! I have flown to Munich about ten times and the planes have only been delayed once. Another plus is the cheap car parking at the airport. It is in the middle of nowhere but worth it for the cheap flights. Website is www.vbird.com

lufthansa is offering return flights munich to manchester 140euros bargin!! better than the free-for-all when trying to get a seat on sleasyjet. (alternative route Halle to Liverpool) ph34r.gif

Just booked my flight with Air Berlin from Hamburg to Manchester for three weeks hols over christmas/new year. Paid 84 euros, including 16 euros for reserving my seat on both flights! biggrin.gif I usually fly Lufthansa, as the only carrier serving Ham-Man nonstop: costs almost 400 euros... blink.gif

Air Berlin also fly Paderborn/Stanstead 29 Euros each way, and in November start a daily service from Paderborn to Manchester non stop for 29 euros.
