Poppy Appeal what is that only asking

The Poppy Appeal is a fund set a side to help British Ex Service Personnel and their dependants who are in desperate need. Dependants are not necessarily British. A large percentage of expats living in Germany are ex-servicemen with German wives and children. The Royal British Legion's work is similar to that of the Deutschen Kameradenschaft.
